How do you pronounce "Fudgesicle"

When I was a kid at least half of us pronounced it “Fudge-Ickle”. We knew what the wrapper said, but that’s how some of us said it. Where this came from I’ll never know. How many of you said it that way too?

Not I said the Zog.

“Throat warbler mangrove”

or Fudge-sickle

Either way worked.

Depends. If it’s an ice cream, then it’s “fudj sikl”. If it’s a vehicle, then it’s “fudj SIcl”.

Fudge-sickle
Fudge-ickle drives me nuts, definitely on my pet peeve list.

Food–Geh–Sigh-Kell

Well, not fudge-ickle exactly, more like ‘fudjikle’, because you have to say it really fast

The reason that we called them that is because that’s what my gramma calls them.

Oh, and I also call pot pies ‘popeyes’

Fudge-sickle. Just like popsicle, only with fudge instead of pop.

Can’t believe no one has yet jumped in to give this Simpson’s quote:

“Where’s the fudgicles Bart? Where’s the fudgicles?”

–Milhouse

“fudjickle”

fudge - sickle

It never occured to me that it could pronounced another way.

Definitely Fudge-si-cle.

II’ve always pronounced it fudgeickle, but I harbour many a weird pronunciation. For example, I used to drive my friends nuts when I would pronounce “frankenstein”, frankensteen (rhymes with bean).

Don’t know why I do that.

I bet you say Cocola, too.

Yeah, definitely Fudge-sicle. Yeah.

Sometimes I couldn’t decide between a Fudgesicle or a Good Humor Chocolate Eclair. Or is that EE-clair? Or AY-Clair? Or just eh-clair? Damn.

It was Creamsicle I got wrong. Cricycle, rhymes with tricycle. Who knew? Maybe the driver had an accent?

Fudgesicle = Fudd-guess-ick-ley.

I don’t know where everyone else pulls there so-called pronunciations.

The brand name is spelled “Fudgsicle” ™. There is only one “e” in it.

It should be pronounced as “fudge-sickle”. It follows the same American English spelling rules as “judgment” and “acknowledgment”.

Probably a Young Frankenstein influence.
