How do you say "big bottom" in any non-English language you know?

I am writing a fantasy type story, where the main characters go on an adventure to various lands that are analogues of regions on Earth. It is my intent to have every country they go to have a name that translates as “Big Bottom,” as a little in-joke.

So, what are the words for big bottom (in the sense of “ample backside,” preferably, though I will use the word for bottom as in “the bottom of a bucket” if it’s more euphonious) in foreign languages you know? If you’re telling me in a language with non-Roman characters, please give a romanization so I can spell it, though I’d like to know the real native spelling too so it can be written on signs and stuff (This may be produced as a graphic novel if I’m lucky.) Thanks.

Irish: “Tóin Mór” = Big Arse

Or if you prefer,

“Bun Mór” = Big Bottom (as in bottom of a bucket)

I think that “nalgas” and “culo” are both similar in Spanish - nalgas meaning “buttcheeks” and “culo” meaning “ass”, so “culo grande” would literally mean “big ass”. “Nalgas grandes” would be “big buttcheeks”.

It’s been a while since I took Spanish though. Those are literal translations which might not match the vernacular.

Russian: большая попа/задница/жопа [bolshaya popa/zadnitsa/zhopa] = big bottom/behind/ass, in ascending order of rudeness.
For the “bottom of bucket” sense - большое дно [bolshoe dno]

I’m not too up on the current slang, but in Japanese you can say おしりが大きい。 oshiri ga ookii (the butt is big). It can be also be “ookii oshiri” (big butt). The adjective ‘futoi’ 太い、 can be substituted.

In Italian, big bottom is literally ‘culo grande’. In slang, ‘culone’ (big ass). Bottom of the bucket is ‘la base’.

If you are my rough, rude, preteen Japanese son, you say “Ketsu dekk-a!”

(Huge ass!)

I have read that the name of the nation Burundi actually translates as “big bottom,” in the sense of buttocks. I do not know what language that is. I have only the vaguest idea why folks in Burundi would name their country for big bottoms, specifically women’s big bottoms.

I’m pretty sure, if I tried to explain it, I would dig myself into a deep cultural hole.

Indonesian = pantat besar

In Dutch: dikke reet.
In Czech: velký prdel

In French: gros cul.
In Esperanto: granda pugo.

In Korean: Tung-tung han ondonggi.

Curses! matt_mcl got there first.

German: grosser/dicker/breiter Arsch (big/fat/wide ass)

A person with a big butt would be a culón or nalgón.

For “Big Bottom” I think either one would work.

Anyone know how to say it in various Elvish tongues? Can somebody page Qadgop

Stor røv, Danish

Google gives me nothing on this.

“Dai see fat”: “big arse” in Cantonese. To my shame I don’t know what the polite term for a person’s bottom is, only the rude one.

Faroese: Stór rumpa (big bottom) Stór reyv (big arse) Stórur botnur (large bottom of something)

Norwegian: Stor rumpe (big bottom) Stor ræv (big arse). You can use “Diger” (Huge) instead of Stor (large) in either example. For extra credit: Sidrumpa (big-bottomed)

Danish: Note that mr. jp’s example uses the word for arse. An alternative would be “bagdel” instead of “røv”, then you get the more polite “big bottom”. An alternative word for “big” (if you want more variations among the scandinavian terms) is “kæmpe” (giant, as in giant arse).
