How firm do you like your...

Firm and two. But two of the right kind. If the average pillow could be considered “one pillow-unit” then I find hotel pillows are always 1.5 pillow units, making one not enough and two too many. I’ve been known to stuff towels underneath a hotel to get that extra .5 units.

I’m also allergic to feather pillows, so I often bring my own pillow when visiting people, which makes me feel like I shoudl also have a “Goin’ to Grandma’s” bag.

Two down pillows - fluffy and soft. But I typically have 4 pillows on the bed - two are decorative foam pillows in sham that I would never except anyone to use. I have spare feather-and-down pillows in the closet for guests. I also have back problems and use on of those “contour” pillows between my knees - helps keep things aligned and helps me stay on my side; my natural inclination is to sleep on my stomach, which is not great for my back.

Firm. Six. Yes, I said six.

We generally have about five on the bed. I tend to get the two thinnest ones. Together they add up to about one real pillow, medium firmness.

My SO uses two pillows for her head with an additional free agent pillow roaming around. When she was pregnant she added a body pillow to help support her hips/legs. Towards the end she had quite an impressive pillow fort built up around her.
