How geeky are you, really?

They need more anime and computer gaming questions, dammit.

Indeed.

I noticed that my Geek Quotient has decreased in time. (insert appropriate smilie here) Don’t remember the exact three Robotic laws anymore, nor can I recall that third temperature scale (wasn’t it used primarily for making chocolate?). Nice to see that they have up-to-date questions, though. A couple of those I couldn’t even understand.

I am offended by their use of the word “techie,” and their assumption that theatrical technicians are geeky. Sure, when you’re in High School it’s pretty geeky, but the pro’s are pretty damn hardcore (not to toot my own horn).

And how can Ween be considered geeky? Someone please explain.

Techie to me is like calling accountants “accounties” or electricians “elecies” or doctors “docties” or The Canadian Mounted Police “Mounties.” Oh, really? Well, never mind the last one, then

Oh, my. 65.286% - Geek God. And they didn’t even have any specific questions about LARPS.

I’m a broad-spectrum geek–I read everything, game (LARP, table, card, computer, console…I wrote and ran a game for a con this year), I’m an anime fan, I collect odd things, and my interest in computing stretches back to the 70s. The fact that I have invented/am inventing languages for a game world probably helped, too.

 I have to say I am confortable and even thrilled at this. Definitely missing Dr. Who, Red Dwarf type of stuff. Also, disappointed i didn’t earn points for having read Ursula K. LeGuin.

Overall, though, I think the test covered a wide array of geek stuff well.

: bowing to Balance, geek god :
( Another thing I don’t know: LARPS)

Maybe they should have different tests, dependent on age, since older geeks have different experiences than those young-uns. I missed having programmed assembler (or hex!) on home computers.

(and by this suggestion increasing my Geek Quotient by one point)

I’m sure clicking every single one of the +2 movie section items didn’t help…

and I’m marrying him!

I scored 7.2 something. I really thought I’d get higher.
They ought to ask if you’ve ever fallen asleep at the computer.

My geekiosity(?) seems to be relatively stable. Would have been higher with old computer stuff - like asking if the programs I wrote were on punch cards - my God, I’m old!

57.59369% Extreme Geek.

Not too shabby.

Especially since I have no computer programming skills and I don’t read comic books. Just think how I must excel in the other areas.

I did take the extra points for being female. Is that wrong?

Say that last line like the end of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels “I’m keeping the money. Is that wrong?”

I know little to nothing about computers, but I have about the geekiest reading habits in the known world. I do have to wonder, though - how does reading Russian Literature outside of school make you geeky? That’s more of an art snob thing than a geek thing, isn’t it? And why is marching band any geekier than concert band?

I think there was too much emphasis on computers. And Trekkies. One can be geeky without touching a computer or an episode of Star Trek. I’m all for more anime questions.

26.86634%. Total Geek. I probably would have scored higher before my son was born, I watched way more TV then (read Trek).

I’m not really into computers, so I scored low on those questions, but I think I should get extra points for homebrewing, and listening to bird-song tapes in my car.

Woohoo! I ticked everyone of the movies except for The Fly!
