How good is your eyeballing skills?

in a real circle you would have to guess at the quadrant boundries, rather than having them marked

Just eyeballing it.

I got it down to an average error of 5.97. Presumably if I were to keep sitting here and playing around, I’d get a little better. But I wouldn’t do that. Nuh-uh. No sirree. Waste my time on some silly–did you notice that if you try to replay, it skips the parallelogram? So I have to click back and forth between the thread and the game.

:smack: I fucking suck at parallelograms!

My eyes are bad anyway (I can’t afford glasses right now) and this game is NOT helping.
But it’s fun.

Another attempt.

I’m now retiring.

True, but just putting an imaginary horizontal line will do the same thing, though. You’re probably right, but you’ve still gotta line up the crosshair to the marks, which is arguably the same as what the other exercises have you do.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Average Error: 5.57
Lowest Error: 0.8 (90 degree angle)
Highest Error: 35.0 [Convergence. I actually got better the second and third time and scored 6.4 and 11.2 (well okay, not much better)]

That was pretty fun

Incidentally the second time I got 4.43
Low: 0.3 Right angle
High: 17 Convergence (I really thought I nailed this one too…weird)

I was better at this than I thought I would be:

Would have been pretty good if it wasn’t for that rogue bisection… it was a very narrow angle which made it surprisingly difficult, oddly.

I didn’t understand the triangle one at first (35.4, agh), so I tried again and got an average of 6.29, which isn’t much better.

My first run through, I got zero on the first “find the midpoint”, but 74.something on the first “make a parallelogram”, cuz I didn’t know what I was doing.

The aspect ratio of your monitor may throw this off.

I noticed on my old CRT that the circle wasn’t a circle. So I used an envelope to gauge the “right angle” that it said was correct (I was WAY OFF on the right angles). The right angles weren’t right angles, either. Luckily, I have another monitor right here (laptop) and cut my score in half - true score is closer to a 3 than a 6 - by using a different monitor. On the laptop monitor the circles look true and the right angles actually are 90 degrees.

So if you’re getting a horrible score it might be the monitor. Easiest test is to check with something relatively 90 degrees to see if it’s close.

average error: 3.70, lowest 0.0 on parallelogram, highest 12.0 on parallelogram

Overall not too bad for my first try I think…

I never would have guessed how much better I am at convergence than parallelograms.

Convergence - 0.0, 2.0, 0.0

Parallelograms - 10.0, 3.6, 14.6

Overall, first try, 3.98

2.01 !!!

If I hadn’t boned the first of the angle bisections and gotten a 6.3, It could have been under 2. My second ang bisection was 0.2, though, so i kinda made up for it.

And I’m definitely a clutch player, because when I needed a good score to get my average under the previous best-of-the-last 500, I got a 0.0 on the final puzzle (the third convergence). Apparently I can do it when I have to. =)

Yeah, I noticed that also.
