The “beautiful, soft towels” part must have been in response to comments to the effect that hurling projectiles at disaster victims was a somewhat un-Presidential thing to do.

Hell, I would totally respect that! Wouldn’t change what I think about their views, but sure as shit would change what I think about them as Americans.

Pence told the press to stay in the vans because he wasn’t going to be at the game very long. He knew the players were going to kneel and he stopped off on the way from Lax Vegas to Washington just to make a political point.

When Trump was elected I was actually pleased because I hated Hillary so much. I was willing to give him chance to show what he could do. Well, he showed what he could do and it was not much and that not much not well. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. I now freely admit there’s a prize idiot in the White House, a dangerous idiot.
So how has he pissed me off today? His crazy tweets have pissed me off. I took some time to sit down and read a whole bunch of them, hardest reading assignment I’ve had in my life. I suddenly recognized where I’d seen this stuff before and why it seemed so familiar. It is identical in tone, writing style and lack of any intelligence to the stuff you always see in Youtube comments. I sat there stunned letting the truth sink in.* An internet troll is the fucking President of the USA!!!*
My hat is off to you for saying this. That shows a lot of character and integrity. You might be the only (former) Trump supporter who has come forward on this board and admitted that Trump has not behaved the way you expected him to (to put it mildly!) when you voted for him.
If I’m not recognizing other (former) Trump supporters who have made a statement like aldiboronti’s, I apologize, and by all means, correct me.
Why did you hate her so much? What specifically did she do or not do to push you to give Trump of all people a chance to prove himself as president for his first time in public office?

Happening a lot these days it seems.
I don’t know what to say when people express Trumpgret. I mean, I’m glad they are finally starting to see reason. But I am frustrated that they weren’t able to see reason when it counted the most. I suppose after-the-fact rationality is better than nothing. But dammit to hell, people. You drove us into this ditch, so I hope you’re doing something to get us out of it. Feeling bad just isn’t enough.
I’m torn between ThelmaLou’s and Monty’s responses and which I prefer. On the one hand I want to go all “Prodigal Son” on aldiboronti and welcome him into the fold, but on the other hand I have to wonder why it took so goddamn long to notice something that has been blindingly obvious to most of us for years. Trump’s moral and intellectual failings even compared to Clinton’s are neither subtle nor obscure, nor have they ever been.
Let’s not beat up on aldi. Trump was so masterful at concealing his true nature for so long, how could we have possibly known what we were getting? If only there had been some sign… anything! But the man was a black box.
