How has Former President Trump pissed you off today?

They do actually, but it doesn’t mean they’re any good at it. When I was on Okinawa I was a member of the (navy) pistol team. Once a week we’d travel to the (army) pistol range with targets at 25 and 50 yards for practice and one week, the rangemaster remarked that some army unit (I forget which) had done their pistol qualification earlier that morning. As we walked out to set up the targets we noticed small divots in the grass where bullets had struck starting about 15 in front of the firing line on out. This was just a shooting range; no combat simulation was involved.

Did Trump ever actually say “I hear you” as his crib sheet suggested, or words to that effect?

At least one wounded student was not especially moved by POTUS’s call to her hospital room: 'I've never been so unimpressed by a person in my life': Parkland shooting survivor delivers a biting critique of her phone call with Trump

Trump tweeted, “My daughter, Ivanka, just arrived in South Korea. We cannot have a better, or smarter, person representing our country.”
And somebody replied, “Why not? Would it make her feel bad?”

Let’s go to the quarry and throw stuff down there! That’s awesome; I’ve already shared this with a dozen friends!

Of course Ivanka has been nominated as an ambassador and the Senate has given its advice and consent to her appointment, right?

Right?

A sad sidebar to the Florida shooting is the school’s security guard – never engaged the shooter, fired from his job. He hasn’t told his side of the story; but no matter what it is I can’t help but feel sorry for him, and imagine he’s going through hell.

But there’s no problem that Trump can’t make worse: he’s called him a coward and said that armed teachers would be better than armed security guards, because security guards “don’t love the kids.”

Way to heal the nation, Donny.

She’s the official US representative at the Olympics Closing Ceremony.

Well, at least she won’t sit and glare stonily like Pence did… he creeped me out, and I’d imagine other nations felt like I did: “If you hate this so much, just go home… soon!”

Ugh. My wife and I were discussing this last night and we both thought about that cop. He supposedly “Resigned/Retired” because he accrued enough time to retire. We imagined an older cop assigned the school as he wound his career down, usually the easiest assignment short of manning a desk - until the guy with the AR-15 shows up.

Anyway, my wife and I thought he might be a suicide risk.

This was before I heard that Trump called him out like that.

As I said before: Ugh.

Not excusing the guy’s inaction, but I am pretty sure he feels terribly enough without the president calling him out publicly like that. I don’t expect consistency from people, but it’s another case where Trump doesn’t have law enforcement’s back but none of the people who screamed that Obama never did don’t seem to have an issue when Trump does this or lambaste the FBI.

Cadet Bone Spurs, the five deferment draft dodger, is busy calling him a coward. Pot, meet kettle.

Does one single human being on this planet believe that TRUMP, placed in the situation facing the man he disparaged, would have gone into the school to confront the shooter?

Does one single human being on this planet doubt that Trump would have run as far and as fast as he could, in the other direction from danger?

Even his fans have to know this to be true, whether or not they admit it.

We ALL know what Old Bone Spurs would do. he’d be grabbing children to use as shields.

But also note that it was not only one deputy who failed to act… there were several.

When Coral Springs police officers arrived at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on February 14 in the midst of the school shooting crisis, many officers were surprised to find not only that Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson, the armed school resource officer, had not entered the building, but that three other Broward County Sheriff’s deputies were also outside the school and had not entered, … The deputies had their pistols drawn and were behind their vehicles, the sources said, and not one of them had gone into the school. … Some Coral Springs police were stunned and upset that the four original Broward County Sheriff’s deputies who were first on the scene did not appear to join them as they entered the school, … Sources cautioned that tapes are currently being reviewed and official accounts could ultimately differ from recollections of officers on the scene.
The resentment among Coral Springs officials toward Broward County officials about what they perceived to be a dereliction of duty may have reached a boiling point at a vigil the night of February 15, where, in front of dozens of others, Coral Springs City Manager Mike Goodrum confronted Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel. … "I understand that another agency has given the impression that it had provided the majority of the rescue efforts, and that the tremendous work of the Coral Springs Police and Fire Departments has not been recognized. Please know that this issue will be addressed, … “I’m in shock and I’m outraged to no end that he could have made a difference in all this. It’s really disturbing that we had a law enforcement individual there specifically for this reason, and he did not engage. He did not do his job. It’s one of the most unbelievable things I’ve ever heard.”
Israel also announced an investigation into how two other deputies had handled warnings about the gunman prior to the shooting. …

No doubt it’s a separate topic, but there are indications that law enforcement training in recent years has emphasized the safety of the officers above all other considerations.

No sane human wants to go up against a nut wielding an assault firearm. But at the same time, the training to ‘watch out for yourself, first’ might be receiving new scrutiny in the face of this story.

Trump supporters support Trump because they believe he is a STRONG MAN.

I’d bet they imagine him stripping to the waist, sprinting in armed with only a 12-inch hunting knife, and tearing the shooter to pieces with his bare hands.

I’d bet that’s the way Trump imagines it, too.

Except he’s not wearing pants, either.

Further dissing dying John McCain.

When he goes low…he’s just warmin’ up.

You mean like this guy?

Trumpy has a great idea to prevent gun violence, and why didn’t anybody ever think of this before. Maybe there should be a ratings system for movies.

To be fair, if you listen to what Trump said and try to give it some reasonably charitable interpretation to translate his kindergarten language into adult thoughts, he seems to be saying that the current rating system is based on sex and maybe they should have a rating system based on violence.

I don’t think it is true that the current rating system discounts violence completely, but I think there is some truth to the notion that the rating system is biased toward weighting the sexual aspects much more than the violence.

I like that he talks about ‘bad stuff on the internet’… I wonder how he’d respond if they actually did block the ‘bad stuff’ that leads to this shit.

‘Why is my Twitter account shut down?’
