And now we get to the good part: where Trump actually starts doing indisputable, visible, tangible damage to the American economy that we can all experience together in one way or another. His voters, and all of the others who believed that Hillary was just as bad, will now get to swim in their own shit pool. Unfortunately…so will we.
Either way works for me. There will be those that make a martyr out of him, but they’re cult members beyond the reach of reason.

Depends how he dies. There’s a good chance he’ll die of natural causes and no violence ensues. If he’s shot by say a Muslim, then we’re going to have retaliation against many thousands of innocents. If he’s shot by a white guy, there will be no retaliation. So if it happens, let’s hope it’s at the hands of a straight Christian white male.

Nope. My prediction is that the bigots will blame the minorities and then we’ll have a spate of killings of minorities. It doesn’t matter if a white guy kills Trump.

I don’t know if they’re THAT crazy. If the assassin is among their demographic, they may wail and gnash their teeth, but they won’t go on a rampage.
I think he’s such a waste of oxygen that he would be soon forgotten even by those who profess to love him.
Just as Trump “saw” thousands of Muslims in NJ celebrating the Towers falling, they will “see” the hated-demographic-of-the-day shoot him.

I’m sure the millions of Americans working in industries that buy steel will be glad to see this policy designed to benefit the hundred thousand or so workers who make steel. It’ll really…what’s the phrase…“get the Motor City revving its engines once again” when auto makers have to pay more for steel.
The greater danger is the loss of faith in America’s willingness to live up to its agreements in trade pacts. If trading partners are of the opinion that we’re just a signatory in name only and not a trading partner, then they’re going to look elsewhere for reliable trade. That’s not to say that America will immediately descend into irrelevancy but our power is going to be diluted and absorbed by others. If Trump’s administration is concerned about Chinese power, the great irony is that a trade rift would hurt China in the short run, but certainly not as much as we would be hurting ourselves in the longer term. Canada, Australia, Japan, Korea…if all of these countries get the message that they’re viewed as adversaries, then they look for someone else to partner with – like each other. And other major trading blocs, like China or EU.
Coupled with this administration’s unwillingness to challenge Russian interference in our elections, and our complete retreat from our traditional foreign policy theater, this administration is charting a course for an America that emerges in 10 years as a much, much weaker - and poorer - country.
