I hate to say this, but what if Trump does bring peace to the Koreas? NK is scared the US will invade, and they cower at Trump. Same thing happened when Reagan took office: Iran returned the hostages his first day. Releasing three prisoners may be just a symbolic gesture that can easily be forgotten, but it might be that fear and not diplomacy is the only way to deal with NK.
Sometimes we need a fucker in the White House to deal with these tinpot dictators. Obama sure as hell didn’t inspire fear in them. Trump is their worst nightmare, an aggressive American psycho who won’t hesitate to push the big candy-like red history eraser button.

I saw a photo today of Melania posing with a large group of military ‘moms’. Whitest bunch of rice you’ll ever see. This administration is truly tone deaf. I remember a group photo of my son taken nearly 40 years ago with his gang of friends, all military brats. His was the only white face there.
If this is the photo, I don’t think Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump, Karen Pence and the guy in the back count as “military wives”. Two others are blocked from view so it’s only two wives out of seven visible people. And the Howling Yam.
ETA: and one of the wives looks somewhat older so her husband is no doubt a highly ranked officer. Hardy someone for whom a raise is that big a deal.

Not really. After the next guy gets sworn in (and I can’t imagine the Supreme Court refusing to do their duty), Donald won’t be “The President” any more. The New President will presumably ask the Secret Service to show him out and I would expect the SS to do its duty, too.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Republicans vote to allow Donald to seek an extra term but there’s no real way for anyone to suspend or cancel the actual election process, short of blowing it all up. It’s all too big & unwieldy, and the calendar is too well established.
This all assumes that The Donald is not dead or in jail by the time the next elections roll around, and that the United States Government hasn’t died in a fire, of course. And the Governement has too many moving parts for all that.
C’mon. There were rumors that both Clinton (due to the Y2K bug or something) and Dubya would seek a third term, or seize power, or refuse to leave the White House at the end of their second term, or whatever. It was no more true for them than it’ll be true for Il Douche - there are plenty of Americans who still believe in the rule of law and would never allow this guy to overstay his legal welcome.

Yeah, Obama and Clinton and even bush were accused of having all sorts of nefarious plans. Maybe they did, but they kept them under wraps and never executed them.
With trump, he announces his nefarious plans, and then it is up to us to ensure that he does not carry them out.
