Sherrerd:
I agree, but the point of mentioning those particular “leaders” is that they were permitted to do their crazy/destructive/corrupt thing for quite a while–until their subjects decided that ‘respecting the leader’ was no longer a principle worth upholding, since it meant watching the nation go to ruin.
The ruled have their limits, and rulers who assume their power is absolute, sometimes find out they were mistaken.
By “it’s all academic,” I was referring to the unlikelihood of his head popping off when he got strung up.

But the symbolism of this move, and the message it sends cannot be overstated. What’s next? Is he going to start revoking security clearances of people currently employed in the government? Is he going to start revoking press passes? What’s truly disturbing isn’t that Trump would consider such a move, but that a sitting US Senator is actively encouraging this behavior.
Not “considered”: “done” .
Kaitlan Collins says the White House denied her access to President Donald Trump’s Rose Garden statement with the European Union Commission president on Wednesday because officials found her earlier questions “inappropriate.”
Collins’ questions had focused on Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen. The president didn’t answer them.
It does flow a bit better…

Yoink!
Pre-yoinked. I’ve seen that same quip all over Twitter for days.
If only those nosy kids, er, the Special Counsel hadn’t been poking around…
Hell, I didn’t have sex with either of those two women and I didn’t have to pay them a penny.

Art of the Dea l my ass. I would not have sex with Trump for a lot less than $100,000.
The bidding on that would bottom out very soon.
Can’t we just put it all behind us?
Hard labor too. Make him work, for the first time in his life.
While, like always, he lines his own pockets.

My grandmother posted a “Trump won get over it” meme on Facebook the other day. I cannot comprehend it. It really breaks my heart to realize someone I was so close to is such a hateful, bitter person. But these are deep-Virginia octogenarians whose church tells them gays will cause the apocalypse, so I guess it’s my fault for expecting anything different. I thought she was better than that.
Oh well. Her town is a decaying shithole and she lives alone with her house full of 1950’s garbage and yapping little dogs. She’s never met her great-granddaughter, and now she never will.

This, and stories like it, are the saddest part of Trump’s legacy.
(And of course he’s utterly incapable of understanding the pain he’s caused.)
I don’t know anything about VoteVets. I gather they are a Dem-leaning PAC. So I can’t vouch for their objectivity or their math, but FWIW, they tweeted :
Trump has spent 123 days golfing, or 1/5 of his term, at a cost to taxpayers of $72,181,957 - and still hasn’t visited troops in a war zone.
Seriously? One out of every five days of his term, he’s been golfing?? Holy shit.

If we could get him to golfing everyday, it would be cheaper for everyone in the long run.

Allie Malloy of CNN just noted that there have been only three WH Press Briefings in all of July.

How many should there have been?

They’re not called “daily press briefings” for nothing.
The White House press secretary is a senior White House official whose primary responsibility is to act as spokesperson for the executive branch of the United States federal government, especially with regard to the president, senior aides and executives, as well as government policies.
The press secretary is responsible for collecting information about actions and events within the president's administration and issues the administration's reactions to developments around the world. The pres...
