Here, FTR, are a couple of my favorite moments from the speech, with my own humble observations:

Trump and the lunatics at CPAC discover the cause of the wildfires that have been ravaging California, Texas, and elsewhere. It’s leaves, and insincere cigarette smokers.

It went like this:
Switchboard: “The White House. How may I direct your call?”
Caller: “This is Gavin Newsom, extremely liberal Democratic governor of California. I would like to talk to the president, to tell him how great he is, what a great job he’s doing, and most of all, that he’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. I am totally in awe of him. He needs to know this. Put me through immediately.”
And finally, #61 and #62 state, respectively, that Trump deserves credit for the enormous success of the 2018 election, and that Trump doesn’t deserve blame for the enormous losses of the 2018 election. Uttered within 20 seconds of each other.
All met with enthusiastic appreciative applause. Don’t blame me for making you read this, I said earlier that “it never ceases to amaze me how deeply and irredeemably stupid his followers are”.
It was the air of urgent purposefulness to this that made me LOL.
You know, now that you put it that way, I do wonder as to how many of his “calls” were completely fabricated, and how many were him being pranked.
Still lean towards the majority being outright lies on his part, but I could see one or two of his claims coming from a place where he was just stupid enough to fall for a shock DJ giving him an early AM call.

And they are totally in his thrall. I watch another board where they are a majority (but I do not post there), and they are convinced that he is singlehandedly responsible for the stock market’s performance; he is the only bulwark the US has against “socialism” (which they define as they like, but somehow “socialism” ultimately means cancelling the First and Second Amendments, and involves government-run death panels in medical care); and he could be the only person capable of keeping human traffickers, pregnant women looking to drop an anchor baby, drug dealers, Muslims, and gang bangers, out of the US using a massive wall, if only those pesky “Dimocrats” would just get out of his way. Oh, and “Obummer” and “Shrillary” have something to do with how his plans are constantly foiled, but it’s never exactly clear as to how.
“Irredeemably stupid” doesn’t begin to describe it.
This concisely sums up the talking points for his 2020 run. :dubious: His peeps don’t need to know any more than this. Actually, they can’t wrap their shrunken brains around any more than this.
What gets me is the flag he violated was one of those gold fringe ones. Doesn’t that get all the Illuminati/Admiralty Law wowsers all het up? I’d guess the MAGAt ranks have more than their share of those. I suppose it’s okay when Trump does it (IOWTDI?).
Yeah. I’m Facebook friends with two Trumpsters I know from high school who are literally the two dumbest people I know. One guy didn’t know the difference between am and pm even after graduating high school (2 am? Is that when it’s light out?) and the other guy has been charitably described as “dumber than a bag of hammers”.
Yet, they know Trump is the one honest guy saving America from the “socialists”, who apparently are anyone not aboard the Trump Train and these “socialists” hate America and want to destroy it (after stealing all the money first, of course). And they are aggressively stupid in letting you know this. They’re immune to facts. The other day one asked for a list of five verifiable Trump lies. Five lies. I shit you not, because “Trump is the most honest president we’ve ever had and doesn’t lie like a true politician”. Any lie offered was Fake News!
If you watch any MSM you’re being brainwashed and you’re brain-dead by definition in the first place for watching MSM. And MSM is the usual suspects but also any source that isn’t pro-Trump is Fake. They have access to the secret knowledge news sources like Breitbart and InfoWars that tell it like it really is!
And this minority idiocracy is holding America hostage. Trump seems to have made no effort to expand his base and, instead of appealing to, actively demonizes anyone who not a supporter, which is most of the country.
But Obama was the most divisive President in history. And never forget he once wore a tan suit!!! (Remember when that was a Fox News presidential scandal for days? :rolleyes:)

I know, Buddy, it makes your stomach and your brain hurt to encounter these people. I have some smart (in other ways) friends who buy thump’s bullshit.
This is the most maddening part.
I just don’t see how you can narrow it down to a *single *most maddening part.
Name a President who throughout his term of office didn’t at least once a day piss off someone.
Possibly Washington?
The problem here, though, is that Trump regularly pisses off more than half the country at least once every hour. My next most disliked President, Bush the Lesser, could go days without that happening.
The “stable genius” and smartest man that Gavin Newsom has ever met was in a meeting with the CEO of Apple the other day, after which he thanked “Tim Apple” for all his hard work, which I thought was nice.
Wait, his name is what? I thought every CEO named the company after himself, plastering the name everywhere in sight in gilded letters at least seventeen feet high. No?
That’s remarkably close on average if you associate being pissed off with every lie he tells. His lie count currently totals 9,014 as of a few days ago, averaging just under 12 lies a day to the public since inauguration, which does work out to an average of one maddening lie about every working hour including weekends and holidays. But the thing is, his daily lie count has been rapidly increasing. He currently averages about 22 lies a day, way up from 5.9 lies a day at the beginning of his term. On the day of his CPAC speech, he told 104 whoppers, but that was only the fourth-highest daily lie count on record.
I refer you to my “moron” observation, and I rest my case.
