Musing… It occurs to me that he just can’t stand to have a thing work the way it’s supposed to. He can’t just leave a situation alone and let it RUN. It’s like if a car is running well, starting as it should every morning, getting people where they need to be, and he has to take an ice pick to three of the tires and then bitch and whine that there’s a tire shortage. Or open the hood and start bashing things with a sledgehammer and then carry on at the top of his lungs that the metal was defective and the engine was built by morons. He’s got to come along and fuck things up. Is it because he always has to be the center of attention? In the headlines? He has said that he thrives on chaos and he believes that creating/introducing chaos into a situation always produces great outcomes and solutions. WTF? Is is because when things run smoothly he doesn’t get a chance to use the ONLY tool in his toolbox, namely, reacting to the moment and shooting from the hip? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS GUY?? (Okay. Never mind. Time for my walk. Need air…)
I think it’s a case of shooting the messenger. The WHO reports that Covid19 is a problem; Trump bungles the crisis and looks incompetent; Trump blames the WHO.
That (shooting the messenger), added to Trump’s well-known pattern of always providing a scapegoat for his bungling/criminality/stupidity.
You may be sure that Trumpites everywhere will leap upon this new “explanation” of the disaster: ‘it’s all WHO’s fault! all the death; all the economic cataclysm–WHO did it!’
Trump has the constant comfort of knowing that his fans will always come through with the dim-bulbery on which he depends.
He keeps getting rid of people and never seems to find the root of the incompetence that permeates his administration. Which is funny, because I’m sure he spends hours looking in the mirror for other reasons.
Maybe. But as I pointed out in another post, maybe not. Trumpites are like their leader; ultimately they have no loyalty to anyone but themselves. So if it becomes clear the SS Trump is sinking, all the rats will be running to abandon ship.
Yeah, their memories are demonstrably on the proverbial “goldfish” scale. If Trump fails in their eyes as the Biggest Bully on the Block, he will lose them. They’ll be looking for another bully to idolize.
Oh, are we still pretending that’s a thing? When I contemplate the fact that the electorate insists on still treating Republicans as eligible to fill it on occasion, I feel justified in viewing the concept as merely an ornamental, stylized affectation of symbolic significance (and as such, wholly dismiss-able).
