I wrote emails to the GOP senators who supported Trump’s conviction, commending them for their courage and their commitment to country over party. I disagree with them on virtually everything else (but didn’t write that, of course), and would rather see good Democrats hold their seats.

The very force that took the brunt of the insurrection? Maybe Mitch spoke ill of Trump so his bodyguards wouldn’t come down with a bad case of “I see nothing!” blue flu if someone attacks him.
Trumpism has little to nothing to do with the GOP refusal to compromise with Democrats. That is wholly owned by Mitch “our goal is to make Obama a one-term President” McConnell.
But Mitch couldn’t have succeeded without a bunch of other fuckers just like him in the Senate.

And of course Moscow Mitch is wealthy enough to supplement the security provided by the CP with private protection, too. Until Donald’s fandom fades away, he would probably be smart to do so.

Trump pissed me off today by not joining in the ad showing every living ex-President and his wife except Orangeman and Melania receiving their Covid-19 vaccinations. Article. The particularly stupid thing is that he claims he got his shot already, and he used to brag about how he brought about the vaccines by (Congress) spending lots of money on it. But he does nothing to encourage his followers in MAGA-land to get “his” vaccines.
Including his vaccination and Melania’s (but mostly his) in the ad would go a long way in dispelling right-wing/red-state/MAGA opposition or skepticism of the vaccines, which in turn affects public health for the rest of us (reservoir of infection and all that). So him not playing along pisses me off.
And the extra stupid thing is even if he, or any of the others have, got the vaccine already I’m quite sure there would be no problem on the medical side with them just getting an injection of saline.
I’m betting Donald cries when he gets a shot and demands a lollipop.

“Often” referred to? Since January 20, no one has uttered the phrase “China Virus” in public. And thank God for that.
Jeezus Christ, let it go, Donnie. You lost. There is nothing left to be gained by perpetuating fantasies about the pandemic. You’re free to join us in the reality-based universe.
(Tangentially…my MAGA Facebook friend, big Trump backer, is also a big never-vaxxer (“they’re not putting that shit in my arm”). I wonder how she mentally reconciles the two – does she not have faith in Trump’s FDA? The miracle of Operation Warp Speed? But: I don’t care enough to ask.)

Possibly Trump is still going for that ‘individual responsible for the greatest number of deaths in recorded history’ trophy.
Or, it’s entirely possible that he was approached to be a part of the public-service ad—but asked to be paid. A lot. (If that did happen, I hope someone in the know will reveal the details.)

This report startled me a bit today because it was the first bit of news I’ve seen about Trump since I can’t remember when that didn’t piss me off. Trump is encouraging his supporters to get the COVID vaccine? Well done Trump, and I sure don’t say that very often.
