There are a few I’ve heard that adore/admire him solely for being wealthy, and say so in a way that indicates that this quality should be the only consideration when choosing a president. I also carefully note that these people play the “money card” when/if the other reasons such as described above fail to resonate with who they are trying to explain to.

The first guy I met (2015 or so) who supported Trump went on and on about “he’s so rich, he won’t be corrupt. He has all the money he needs. He’ll self fund his campaign, and won’t owe anyone anything.”
Absolutely. It’s terrible enough on its own. Then there’s the logical issue: Lots of their “librul” boogymen are also quite wealthy. Pointing this out angers them in a way that I enjoy with much relish.
That, too. But I was thinking specifically of articles posted by other Dopers which related anecdotes from pastors whose parishioners now dismiss Jesus’ teachings as too weak for these times.
I’ve heard many times that she should run, and she reportedly has considered it.
There was so much buzz over it that she felt the need to come out and say she wasn’t going to.
She wouldn’t be my first choice, I actually think political experience is valuable, but at least she actually made her wealth and didn’t just inherit it.

It is funny, though, how reviled she is on the right – despite being basically a textbook example of an American growing from humble beginnings to magnificent wealth based exclusively on talent, chutzpah and business savvy. She’s a far better example than the guy they worship. I wonder why that would be …
There was a near-future sf cop show a few years back, and in one of the episodes, a mentally-ill man was being asked questions to see how well-oriented he was to reality. His correct answer, when asked who was President, was “Oprah Winfrey.”
