I’m sorry Rebo, I’d like to play along, but the fact is, although plenty of ardent trump supporters likely are semi-literate to fully illiterate morons, far too many otherwise perfectly intelligent people inexplicably support him, as well as politicians who know better, but pander to him.
It’s become a vicious circle at this point-- politicians who know better pander to him because of his rabid base, who they are afraid of. But trump maintains his viability and rabid base, in part, because he is supported and protected by politicians who should know better. If Repubs like McConnell, McCarthy and Graham had stuck to their guns after Jan. 6 and done the right thing, despite the hit to their political fortunes, trump would be a political non-entity by now.
