In the Bible, yes, but outside of the Bible his reputation was tarnished with blame for building the Tower of Babel in defiance of God. (The Bible itself doesn’t say Nimrod was to blame, but it does say in Genesis 10:10 that Babel was part of his kingdom, so people inferred it.) Which led to humanity being punished for Nimrod’s hubris, and cursed with multiple languages which forever divided people. So based on that, Nimrod was a nimrod.
(Just an explanation of how that name became a pejorative.)

I read that this is actually true (in case you were being facetious). Nimrod was a mighty hunter in the Bible, so when Bugs calls Elmer “Nimrod,” he was mocking him as a shitty hunter. Dummies like me took it as a synonym for “dope.”

That was my reaction; I was actually heartened by the Iowa results. I suppose some of the non-Trump voters will fall in line eventually, but they DID go to a lot of trouble and pain (and sub-zero temperatures do mean actual pain) to vote against him.
That does indeed seem to mean something for the general. Those non-Trump Republicans who don’t fall in line may instead simply stay home on Election Day.

Yes, the Republicans are antisemitic but there is a hierarchy of hatred, and Jews rate lower on that list than do Muslims or liberals. So if bashing liberals or killing Muslims means they have to support Jews they will hold their collective noses and do what needs to be done.
And if a black person kisses their ring, they are somewhat accepted, but looked down on.
