How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 1)

Does not matter. Apparently Ohio Republicans are not going to allow Biden to be on the ballot there.

I came to the same conclusion in 2017 after voting Libertarian in the Presidential election in every election since I came of age in 1972.1 In early 2018 I changed my registration to Independent. In Arizona I could then ask for either a Democratic or Republican ballot in the primary elections.2 The hope was I could help pull the Republican party back from the brink. So far I have not found any I could stand voting for.

1My home of record was Virginia, one of the two states with John Hospers on the ballot.

2Except the Presidential preference primary which is strictly party registrants.

I’ve been arguing with 3rd party voters in other threads who have sincere personal reservations about Biden, and feel strongly enough about them to vote 3rd party because they live in blue states and feel that doing so won’t help Trump win. I disagree, but …

How interesting that Haley, who votes in a red state, is willing to put the sincere personal reservations she must have about Trump aside and vote for her party’s candidate.

Oh swell. So Biden gets one extra vote. Meanwhile Haley’s given thousands of GOP voters who may have sincere personal reservations about Trump the bump they may have needed to vote for him, when otherwise they might have stayed home or voted 3rd party.

TLDR: Republicans have no spine, and that’s why they win.

"I voted for the winner, I voted for the winner! Now he will give me anything I want!
Morons, all of them.

Anyone here old enough to remember the 1980 election, and the rumors that the Reagan campaign had secretly negotiated with Iran for them to keep the hostages until after the inauguration?

What if it’s happening again, but this time it’s Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin?

So THAT’S how you give your country away.

WTF, seriously?

“Awful nice reporter you got here. Terrible shame if something were to happen to him. Maybe you should place nice with me to make sure he’s taken care of”

What kind of two-bit Mafia threat is that? The candidate from one of our major political parties puts out a message like that and people don’t find it disqualifying. The fuck is wrong with people

Yep. He has done 1000 things that are disqualifying. And people don’t fucking care. I’m no longer pissed at him, but I’m getting very tired of the people who don’t care (or worse, egg him on). But we’re not supposed to call them deplorable.

This, and/or “Give me the election or I will have my buddy Putin murder this reporter”

I have known for a while how bad trump is, but after reading Tired of Winning by Johnathan Karl, it really just hit.
How did/do so many people like him? Is it a foile a deux?

Why do people join a cult?

They do what now?

Also, why do so many people claim to not like him, but say they’ll vote for him anyway? That’s some fucked up thinking. “I’m going to vote for a guy clearly unqualified for this office so I don’t have to vote for a nice guy who I have some minor policy disagreements with but objectively is in the mainstream and doing pretty good.”

Because in their minds no matter how bad Trump or other Republicans get, Democrats are always worse.

Which is why “Democrats are eating/sex trafficking/organ trafficking young children in the basement of a pizza restaurant!” got such traction. When the GOP are so profoundly morally bankrupt, you have to work pretty hard to portray the Democrats as even worse.

I had to look up what foile a deux meant and that’s exactly it. For a lot of Trump supporters, it’s not about what Trump has done it’s about how he makes them feel. And how they feel is what’s real.

Well, obviously they don’t always win, and their track record isn’t great since 2016. But for a party with virtually no policy ideas, an agenda based on grievance and ignorance, a treasonous baboon for a leader and a mile-wide streak of pure evil, they win a hell of a lot more than they should.

And part of the reason why they win as much as they do is that they disregard their personal feelings and vote for the candidate with the R.

It’s folie à deux, i.e., madness (“folly”) of two

Folie à deux, also known as shared psychosis or shared delusional disorder (SDD), is a rare psychiatric syndrome in which symptoms of a delusional belief, are “transmitted” from one individual to another.

Unfortunately, it’s not “à deux,” it’s “la folie de millions.”

Uh, I’m not the one who posted that. I took Spanish in school not French.

I took French but have never typed it before.

This is it. As I’ve said before, I have Republican friends, not stupid people. One is a doctor, one is a successful small business owner. They will happily admit that Trump is an idiot, hopelessly corrupt, has no idea what he’s doing, should never have been allowed anywhere near the presidency.

And yet they will vote for him. Because the alternative would be voting for a Democrat, and nothing can justify doing that.
