Well, it certainly would be wonderful if we could go back to the days when Presidents felt there was ANY reason to follow the law. When “impeachment” was something that kept them from going full Corrupt Mobster on us.
Anyway, JD, horrible as he (no doubt) would love to be, would get away with a lot less than ol’ Donald gets away with. JD has no cult. And I’d submit there’s no one on this planet less likely to inspire a cult.
JD Vance, for all his many failings, is a Yale Law grad, a US Marine vet and not, from all I’ve read, a particularly stupid or vengeful man. So I am cautiously optimistic that he would be an improvement over the incumbent.
The problem with Vance is that he has no principles or ideals of his own - he follows whatever daddy figure he’s latched onto at the moment. So that will be Agent Orange if he’s still alive, or possibly Thiel if not.
Crooks, obviously immigrants, are ripping trunk lids and doors off cars in Beverley Hills. Latest screed where he zooms off topic as the mini-siezures grab hold.
Indeed. Later in the video, he says this astute observation at the 46 second mark:
“I have another friend, he has a garage, and in order to save his garage door, he leaves it open so people can just walk in, take whatever they want and leave, but all the cars, are so many cars, I’ve been told this by many people, stars, big people, they leave their doors open so their doors aren’t destroyed by these criminals all over Los Angeles. This is taking place. And, uh, and you know that. I mean, you’ve heard that.”
Well, Donnie, you’ve got several hundred National Guard troops in the area. Maybe they could patrol the streets so these people can close their doors.
I thought you understood that the NG are well-trained cowards. They are avoiding the parts of Los Angeles where there are actual hispanic gangs, sticking to kidnapping the easy, harmless brown ones. Law Enforcement is not their charge.
That was my first thought too; it’s in McNaughton style. I very much doubt that McNaughton would ever do anything like that, though. However, some artists can imitate the styles of others, so I’m wondering if some other artist executed that to get at McNaughton.
The odd thing (to me, anyway), is that McNaughton is quite talented. Ignoring his political stuff, he’s done some nice religious paintings (not my thing, but somebody’s), and some beautiful, inoffensive, landscapes. He could probably make a living off those, from folks on all sides of the spectrum, without getting political in his art.
It’s a touchy subject for me. As my Wife and I have recently moved, we are finding the right places for the art we have. It takes time, had know idea how much we had. Much of it created by our family and friends.
I would never hang a McNaughton anything. Any politics in an artist is fine, but he stepped over the line so many times I would never have anything of his in my house.
