How? We just used the stadiums we already had. We didn’t have to build anything.
The biggest impact locally here was having to temporarily rename our stadium and dealing with a bit more traffic than usual.

FWIW, the stadium used in Mexico City is their normal fútbol stadium. I don’t know if it got any sprucing up, but it and its attendant facilities all already existed too.
I stand corrected, by @Atamasama and @LSLGuy
Call it North American privilege maybe.
It’s convenient that between the three countries we add up to ~500 million people. We already have a LOT of large stadiums scattered about. Some are even designed for playing fútbol.
SA at 60M? Not so much.
Never mind, wrong thread.
Likewise, the ones in Guadalajara and Monterrey were ones used for their respective local teams.
And the two Canadian stadiums in Vancouver and Toronto also already existed and host MLS and CFL games.
Rolling Coal afficianados rejoice, breathable air folks excluded. Under the contrived guise of letting people repair their own vehicles, farm equipment… etc
COTUS* has pardoned most of the worst offenders who sold the emissions delete parts. How soon before they sue the government to get back their fines and penalities?
*Crime boss of the United States
Not surprised.
I’m waiting for him to outlaw solar energy because it uses too much of the sun.
That they call them Diesel ‘Tuners’ is an afront to anyone that has ever worked on a car.
Since our heyday as motorheads, “tuner” has become the catchall term for “guy who modifies his car or other folk’s cars”. With a lot of “tuner” culture being about using hardware or software tweaks to improve performance by bypassing various factory safeguards in the car’s computers.
Which is pretty much exactly what the coal rolling assholes have been doing. Bypassing safeguards to make the car do things the factory doesn’t want it to do.
Yes. And some idiot told Donald that people got arrested for ‘tuning’ their car. Trump, moron that he is, did not know what was going on.
Or, Trump thought it was perfectly fine to smog or whatever anyone on a bike or EV.
I have some special feelings for coal rollers that cannot be expressed in polite company.
Me too. Coal-rollin’ is assault and immediately returning fire is not unreasonable. Or at least should not be seen as legally unreasonable.
To the degree trump thought anything it was “these freedumb loving truck drivers are MAGA personified. How about I throw out a bone that costs nothing and will get me the adoration of the boots & pickup trucks crowd for another few months. Anything to take their mind off the price of diesel”.
More likely his advisors thought the above but told trump that these guys were railroaded by the Biden weaponized DOJ & this pardon would be sticking one to Biden. So of course he signed the papers.
For those, like me, who may have never heard the term “coal rolling” and might need to look it up…
So yeah, definitely have seen and know what this is even though I wasn’t aware there was a specific term for it. It’s basically an individualized and super concentrated air pollution tactic for people who, I guess, are anti-environmentalists?
And Trump has pardoned a bunch of these geniuses because MAGA doesn’t seem to think they need clean air to breathe?
Not quite.
A bunch of businesses made millions of dollars selling coal-rollin’ accessory kits for $500 to $1K each. That idjits installed on their pickup trucks so they could push a button and roll some coal.
Some combo of EPA and DOT investigated and charged them with the federal crimes of subverting EPA regs and making illegal mods to car’s emissions systems. They were found guilty and sentenced to large fines and prison time. Their businesses were destroyed in the process.
Now trump’s setting them free and wiping out their convictions.
And like the J6 traitors, there will be a felony on there record. So they can only survive by committing more crimes.
Or by running a legit business that doesn’t require a lot of professional licensing.
I doubt many of these guys could start a new business. Maybe lawn care. Which is fine. Or robbing 7-11’s.
Trump tried to rob the US of 1.8 billion dollars to pay off his personal army. Expect more of that.
Forget it. He’s rolling.
No one would bet against that being the case.
Note also that Epstein has been in the news bigly in the last few days, due to the DOJ missing a deadline to un-redact a number of Epstein documents. Also making the news all over in the past few days: another court order denying Donald the chance to hold back E. Jean Carroll’s $5 million-plus.
So bombing Iran was pretty much a foregone conclusion. Gotta change those headlines.
One of his flacks will probably come up with some excuse like he was using satire to compare the attacks on our aircraft carrier to the cowardly surprise attack on pearl harbor and his cultists will eat it up and marvel at how witty he is.
