If only. If they can ever prosecute him, New York (city) has another penitentiary Island for convicts. One could swim to La Guardia airport. (ETA: Oh yeah, Felon 47. Are all/some of those in New York?)
This thing, if ever made to statue height, is going in front of the Kennedy Center or Nuuk.
Question: If Trump’s reasoning for all these tariffs and EOs is that we are “at war with Venezuela because of illegal immigrants” - which allows him to do all this stuff without Congressional approval - why does this not count to him stopping?
I suggest Anvil Mountain Correctional Center. It is almost as far as you can get from Palm Beach while still being in the US. And it is so close to Милая Родина he would almost be able to taste it.
I hate to give him ideas (hehe), but maybe he’ll refurbish Alcatraz at government expense into a posh resort-style residence and then instead of using it as a prison, he’ll declare it to be the Western White House, aka Mar-a-Lago West.
Or make part of it into a Club Fed style prison and use the prisoners as personal slaves “helpers,” i.e., groundskeepers, house n-----, um, house servants, and general dogsbodies. Is the island big enough for a golf course? Big enough for a landing strip for the new airplane? I can see a post-presidential reality series. The ratings will go through the roof!
Rikers (which I coyly alluded to as one can swim to LGA airport) - rough waters, generally no sharks yet a do-able swim for non-fatasses) - is too good for him.
The inmates are mainly pre-trial or short-timers, neither of which Felon is. Bounce him around the up state max’s should the hard-to-imagine occur.
But Alcatraz used to be a Federal Penitentiary. I think it still is a National Park Service thing.
There is a state facility that would be suitable: Donald J. Trump Park in Putnam County, New York. Bought for $2.5 million Trump couldn’t make even one of his crappy golf courses out of it so left it abandoned.
n 2017, an article on website The A.V. Club framed the park as an “abandoned wasteland”, with “muddy fields, overgrown tennis courts, and dilapidated buildings” and a swimming pool in disrepair.
Still he donated it to NYS and then Gov. Pataki valued at $100 million tax write-off. It’s still there - the legislature tries to change its name but the people of Putnam/Westchester like it.
I’m sure they wouldn’t mind some 20 foot high double barbed-wire fencing and a guard tower to house the titular inmate. They can keep the name.
Back then I was watching the news replays of what couldn’t have been more five seconds of video and thought i saw two. I was on the phone with a friend who knew what they were because his father had one.
In the wiki photos there’s one before the shooting there’s a guy in a tan overcoat - Jerry Parr - who from my 40 year recollection (never youtubed this) who i thought was one of those (perhaps the only one) who pulled an Uzi out of his overcoat. In another pic a very angry looking SS agent (no overcoat at least not anymore) Robert Wanko is pulling the stock back on an Uzi which do fold up nicely when tucked away (yet you’ll still want to conceal it with an overcoat)
As Parr wouldn’t need a firearm in the presidential limo it could be his Uzi yet at least in wiki there’s no mention of a hand-off.
Nowadays the SS still use an array of handguns, rifles and submachine guns. The closest replacement to the Uzi is the FN P90 Submachine gun, which provides the same kind of conceal-ability and firepower without scaring the children.
And clearly their tactics involve embracing you tight while you raise your fist and standing next to you wondering what all the fuss is about.
