How Have You Spent Your Sunday So Far?

Woke up. Went back to sleep. Dreamt me some tremulous dreams. Was awakened permanently by the antics of the parrots and noticed I had pushed my bed away from the wall during the night. Pushed it back.

Discovered the parrots were yelling because it had snowed. Tried (unsuccessfully, I think) to convince them that there had been a nuclear war and the snow was the fallout. Ate a couple pieces of cheese and a candy bar for breakfast.

Watched the wind blow shiny ice crystals off the roof. Turned on the radio but couldn’t find my usual station. After a search during which I turned down classical, talk, and Christian stations found one playing metal or rap or thrash (whatever it’s called nowadays) and listened to that. Hey, at least the music has a beat.

Had a hypoglycemia attack. Ate a porkchop and am now planning to move on to the rest of the contents of the refrigerator.

Basically for a repossession of material detailed here. I guess since it’s a civil charge instead of a criminal charge, they give you a heads up to get the property out in the open so that they don’t have to take your house apart to find it. This should be interesting, since I don’t have the property anymore. :dubious:

Eyebrow threading. Ouch.

Let’s see, starting from midnight since I’ve been up the whole time, I watched the next to last episode of the Monte Carlo Millions poker tournament, followed by the last half-hour or so of The Hustler, then The Cincinnati Kid, Paper Moon and Seven Thieves in their entirety. Took a shower, did some stuff online, watched an hour of ultimate fighting and just got through watching The Paper, which was not as good as I remembered it but was still pretty good. Mixed in there I ate a few times and played with my cats, and listened to the Wicked OCR again.

Woke up late at sister’s apartment. (Almost 8am) Shit/shower/shave routine – skip “shower” – I did that last night before bed. Decide to spruce up from everyday T-shirt and jeans and carefully choose my Sunday pair of jeans and T-shirt. Cook breakfast: grits topped with three-egg onion/bell pepper/chopped chicken omellete. Wash down with diluted grape juice. Play and read to two year old niece. We Etch-A-Sketch each other’s hands, I read There’s Another Monster At The End Of This Book while changing voices for passible impressions of Grover and Elmo. Have her read it back to me. See sister and niece off to church. Throw a load in the laundry, clean room, wash dishes, watch ten minutes CNN, catch the end of original Harryhausen Mighty Joe Young on TCM. Hustle downhill the street to bus stop.

Spy lighting equipment, caterer’s truck, off-duty po-pos and more hood rats than normal clustered around someone’s gentrified house. I smell a rap video. Ascertain I have indeed stumbled on the film crew of Atlanta rapper Cierra’s new video being filmed in the hood off McDaniel Street and Fletcher. (WHAZZAP, MECHANICSVILLE, REPRESENT!!!) Thought about crashing the set with my (out-of-date) press credentials but most of the neighborhood rats are just waaay too young, plus I have no one to sell the article to even if I do write it up. Watch proceedings to satisfy curiosity then jump on bus when it arrives. Read my nephew’s copy of Louis Sachar’s Sideways Stories from Wayside School. Why aren’t I published yet?

Five Points, downtown. Spend half-an-hour chatting up women and feeding pigeons birdseed from my duffel bag stash while I wait for transfer bus near Woodruff Park, which takes forever. Nice day out, lots of people around, might be mistaken for a festival, but no: just a regular Sunday. Must bring girlfriend down here sometime and chill one afternoon, I muse. Decide I should get an actual girl.

Little Five Points. Duck into community radio station, WRFG. Chat up Pops, talk with Abdul, read Sunday Paper, check email, decide to go home with Pops when he wants to leave an hour later.

Decatur. Make a pit stop at Dekalb Farmer’s Market on way home. Load up on HUGE six dollar buffet dinner: braised ginger tofu, lasagna, tortellini and pesto, candied carrots, roast mushrooms, two kinds of cooked squash, four hot chicken wings, whole ear of corn. Pops gets a light salad and clam chowder. One of us is sticking to their diet. Glad I decided to hit the buffet line: shopping lines are incredibly long.

Stone Mountain. Grab mail. Check out progress on new garden area. Clean my room, play on internet and eat HUGE dinner. Verdict: a bit gluttonous, but nonetheless impressive. Prepare to pay Pop’s taxes online for him. Dwayne arrives with fish dinner. Plan to grab some fish for tomorrow. It’s almost six: plan to watch news.

I woke up too late, put on makeup and clothing, did my hair, and went to the zoo with a friend.

Then he and I wandered around the park a while half looking for the car (if we had quit talking and stopped to think about where he had parked, it would have taken qite a bit less time, but we were enjoying walking and talking.)

then I got home and took my dog for a walk

now I’m not sure what I want to do. I could call another friend and go hang out and window shop, I could go get myself some soda and veg out on the couch and read or watch TV for a while, I could go to the grocery store and get… something (I have no idea what. I just want to walk somewhere and the grocery store is the perfect distance)

I don’t know yet. I really ought to do laundry, though. Thanks for reminding me, PappSett

It doesn’t actually hurt that much, and it only lasts a few minutes. The ladies always offer to do my upper lip, too, which does seem like it would hurt a lot. Fortunately, my upper lip hair is blond and sparse, so I don’t bother. (I’m half of Irish extraction and mostly look typically Western European, but I have these huge black Middle Eastern eyebrows that look a little out of place with my features if I don’t keep them tidy.)

Got up around 7am and had a lite breakfast. Ms.Nic, our son and I went over to Daytona Beach this morning. It is the last day of Bike Week 2006 and we like to go to Main Street when the crowds are thinned out some. We walked Main Street and looked around in all the little shops there. Still a lot of people and bikes on the street; more than I expected.
Left there and went to Cabbage Patch , which is another biker hangout and campground. We had some reeeallyy good BBQ at one of the stands there.
I read above of someone waking to snow. It was probably 80 degrees with a few clouds and light breeze. It has been really great weather for the event this year.

Slept very late due to having stayed up too late in order to have crazed monkey sex.

Awakened by bladder, fixed, then went back to sleep.

Awakened by Cartoon Network when grandchild woke up–advised of location of headphones, then went back to sleep.

Awakened by cat. Squirted cat until he went away, went back to sleep.

Awakened by text message from daughter letting me know she overslept due to too much fun in the night and advising me she’s leaving posthaste to pick up grandchild to take to a birthday laser tag party.

Figured I ought to get up.

Fed grandchild pancakes with jam and syrup (in order that he be properly hyped up to kill friends with lasers.)

Commiserated with partner who awoke with giant boner but not able to do anything with it since grandchild present and conscious–advised sublimating by making pot of very strong coffee.

Drank huge mug of coffee in new giant mug from the dollar store–says “Best Mom” on it and holds as much as any three normal cups, score!

Directed grandchild to wash sticky hands, comb bedhead cowlicks down flat, put dirty dishes in sink and place all belongings in backpack in anticipation of daughter’s arrival.

Sent them off to kill friends with lasers and socialize with soccer moms. Snickered and kvelled that it isn’t me going.

Discussed with partner (over nice Sunday morning bowl of the chronic) the fact that although we each had vaguely firm obligations to do things with people today that neither of us feels motivated enough to go anywhere.

Phone calls are made during which it is established that our friends are feeling the same way we are–hence, no further obligations!

More coffee, then make a lovely leftover grilled Reuben sandwich with marbled rye, mustard, corned beef, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut, accompanied by potato chips. Yummm. Partner settles on leftover Chicken Kiev and herbed potatoes.

Partner goes back to wrestling with making the elderly motherboard recognize three IDE hard drives and the DVD simultaneously, succeeds and continues rebuilding OS and installing software on the media box. Now it has 480MB of RAM and 400 GB of hard drive space and a capture card for being a cutrate TiVo–excluding hard drives I think the thing has cost about fifty bucks total. Me, I get my laptop out and start surfing.

Smoke another bowl.

Three Netflix movies await, there is a survivalist level of food supplies in the house and two beers.

Oh, and that huge boner is probably still around somewhere…

Perfect Sunday? You make the call, I know what I think!

Slept in a little late, felt groggy.

Ate a bowl of DynoBites, a Fruity Pebbles knockoff by Malt-O-Meal.

Scanned email, SDMB while eating.

Took a shower. Ah. That helped to wake up a bit. Though I whined a little bit before getting in.

My husband takes me to Carkeek Park. We hike for hours. I take pictures, we watch the trains.

I petted a Jack Russell Terrier in the model airplane field. You see, I’ve been wantig to do this for a long time, because I am allergic to most short-haired dogs. My husband loves Jack Russell Terriers, and has always wanted one, but wants to be sure I’m not allergic first. Sadly, as we walked away, I held my hand up to show my husband: it was red, swollen, and itchy. I’m allergic. :frowning: However, for some reason, I’m not allergic to long-haired dogs, and my husband cheerfully began talking about how maybe we could get an Australian Shepherd instead. A long haired lab mix suddenly bolted down the path towards us, licked my hand, and I petted it with my unaffected hand. The owner caught up and apologised, then leashed him and walked off. I held up the hand I used to pet the furry lab - nothing. There is hope. But no Jack Russells. :frowning:

We stopped at the grocery store and bought lunch and cake mix. I make a delicious low-fat cake, so that will be a nice treat for later.

Now we are sitting at home, I had to put on a sweater because as my body cools, I get chilly. I ate my lunch and came here, my husband ate his lunch and is sitting on the sofa, watching his “junk food” movies. Sounds like “The Mummy”. He has a super secret crush on Brendan Frasier. Shhhh.

I’m thinking about making that cake. Mmm. My cheeks still feel warm from all that exercise. Hubby’s giving me the eye. Might get more exercise before cake, apparently.

Sunday is Lazy Day around here. Got up with the kids about 8 AM, made sure they were fed and then collapsed onto the couch in a fit of laziness that has lasted most of the day.

Caught up on my movie watching–watched Exorcism of Emily Rose with Mr. Greywolf and then Madagascar with the kids. Then I finished a novel I’ve been reading, wrote some emails, checked out the SD and my other online haunts.

Oh, and I did 2 loads of laundry and washed dishes…and that’s about the only productive thing I’ve done all day. I did manage to take a shower and brush my hair though.
Then I took a nap. Yay Sunday afternoon naps!

Right now, I’m shopping on amazon for the sequel to the novel I just finished and half-watching The Mummy 2 that the kids are watching in the living room.

 Are you me? No, wait–I’m the one with secret crush on Brendan Fraser in this house. Never mind!

Got home from the bar and breakfast at 3:45 and went to bed. Got up at 10:30 and showered. Got dressed. Got picked up by boyfriend’s sister. Rode over 2 hours to New Hampshire. Met boyfriend’s cousin and his wife at their house. Dropped off nephew with boyfriend’s cousin. Drove another 15 minutes to restaurant for baby shower for boyfriend’s cousin’s wife. Ate lunch (yummy!). Watched prego (this is what she calls herself) open presents. Rode over 2 hours home. Checked Myspace. Checked Straight Dope. Getting motivation to clean house.

Hey! That’s what I did this morning, but with only 8 hours sleep.

I played with my jam band at my Temple’s Purim Carnival. We played for about three hours, on and off.

I fed DUCKS!

Let’s see…

Woke up at 10:30, went to help shoot a short video piece for my Media Convergence project, then came home, watched the last few innings of the Cuba-Venezuela game on ESPN Deportes. Then I flipped over to the Deuce to watch Japan-U.S., with a quick pop over to CBS for the Selection Show to see where my Wildcats are seeded (#8, playing UAB for the opportunity to get thumped by UConn.)

Now I’m killing time until the start of Dominican Republic-Puerto Rico by watching the end of the Cup race at Vegas and checking the boards and my mail.

Got up about 10:30.
Ate brunch at one of the dining halls. Omelet and cereal.
Put gas in my car and got cigarettes. ($17)
Went to two different Movie Galleries looking for movies to rent. Most of my selections weren’t there but I did get Walk the Line (amazing!), North Country, and The Station Agent (good).
In the middle of watching the Station Agent (4ish?) tornado alarms starting going off. We’ve been havign bad weather here in the midwest the last couple days (we got hail and thunderstorms yesterday). We came close to having some really bad weather and everyone on campus was excited/scared. We only came inside when the hail started falling (like bouncy ball out of grocery store machine for .25 size). Ended up being a lot of nothing, at least around campus. Other surrounding areas got the worst of it.
Finished watching the Station Agent.
Went and got Subway. (Chicken parm sandwich…eh. I really don’t like Subway but it is convienient)
Watching George Lopez special (funny) on Comedy Central.

I will soon start North Countrty and eat Starbursts. I am not attending class tomorrow (one is canceled, skipping the other because we just had a test and I am lazy) so I’ll probably stay up late doing a lot of nothing. Then I will go try and rent Jarhead and Constant Gardner. Wish me luck (all of Movie Gallery’s movies are 7 day rentals so they never have anything)

Woke up beside my boyfriend, then played with his cats for a while after having spaghetti leftovers for lunch.

And then he took me to the airport so I could fly the 500 miles back home after a wonderful week with him. :frowning:

Now I’m watching the Simpsons trying to cheer myself up, but it’s not working too well yet. Maybe Family Guy will do it.

Slept in, until 12:30 or so. Got up and made coffee; read e-mail while drinking coffee. Breakfast was a toasted PB&J sammich. I did some project work while at the computer. After the sammich had sufficiently digested I took the dogs for a walk up the Natchez Trace. The clover is quite high now and my Corgi mix had to jump up to see where she was going. Saw a few deer crossing the road. Took the dogs by the pond on the way in, where the Corgi decided she needed a mud bath.

Next was a shower, followed by cooking. I took all the veggies I had in the crisper drawer and made potluck stirfry, with noodles. I ate the last of the roast chicken while I read the color funnies and looked for the obituary of an aquaintance of my son’s who was killed in an accident Friday night. I found her listed at one of the funeral homes, but no article in the paper. Grr. However, I did locate a brief item concerning a friend of my other son’s, who apparently died of an overdose the same night. :frowning:

Since then I’ve been reading the Dope, Fark, etc. Now it’s time to make a grocery list and head to Kroger. And PapSett is right, I should really throw some stuff in the washer before heading out.

Also, I think I’ll hug my kids and Hubby and tell them that I love them.

I slept till 5:30 am, had fresh-brewed organic coffee and a bowl of cereal with raspberries on it.

Dyed my hair, and took a shower.

Talked to ex-boyfriend, who called me from his contract job in Phoenix (and I’m still trying to figure out what that means).

Cleaned the kitchen, and put all my roommates’ stinky, uncovered leftovers in Tupperware containers. (Well, someone’s got to do it.)

Did a load of laundry.

Looked up people on the Internet I haven’t seen since high school.

Sent an angry email to someone who sent me that STUPID “Ten Commandments” spam email and was quite satisfied with myself, though I’ll probably never hear from that friend again.

Watched the snow fall.

Considered deleting my blog, cuz there isn’t a single interesting thing in there.

Called my friend Elizabeth.

Set my alarm for 2 a.m., so that I can make it to work on time tomorrow (I have to be there at 4 a.m.).

Went to bed.
