How Have You Spent Your Sunday So Far?

What area are you in, Marge? It still hasn’t started here. (southeast C&C of Denver) A little light rain this morning; that’s it.

My Sunday has been spent waiting for the snow to start!

I’m about 10 minutes southeast of Boulder. When I posted that, it was snowing pretty good, but then it stopped about an hour later. Then about 3 p.m., it started raining. It’s 8 p.m. now, and it’s coming down pretty good. I doubt we’ll get as much as forecasters predict, though.

Is it snowing where you are?

Got up at 3:45 AM to let puppy out.
Went back to bed.
Got up at 6:00 AM or so to let puppy out.
Went back to bed.
Got up at 9:00 AM to let puppy out.
Drank tea my husband had made for me.
Watched part of “The Planet’s Funniest Animals”.
Took dog out again, pre-shower, ran into neighbours, puppy met two other dogs. Everyone met my bedhead. Tried to pretend that I wasn’t wearing clogs, white socks, black sweats, a shortie nightgown, and an ugly green sweater.
Took shower. Found some better clothes.
Took puppy out into front yard. Gardened, weeded, practised calling puppy.
Came inside. Intended to tidy house, do laundry, empty dishwasher, sweep entry and answer email.
Played with puppy. Did none of the above.
Watched “The Corpse Bride” and ate seven-layer dip, corn chips, and diet vanilla Coke.
Took puppy outside. Played with puppy and gardened some more.
Thought about tidying house.
Played on computer.
Played with puppy.
Accosted husband for sex.
Made dinner.
Watched Star Trek: Next Generation episode with husband while eating dinner.
Thought about tidying up messy house, kitchen. Did not.
Took puppy for a small walk. Watched puppy wriggle out of smallest harness possible. Proudly brought home puppy poops in handy-dandy teeny-bag from teeny-bag dispenser on puppy leash, now in pocket, as puppy free of harness and lease.
Watched television with puppy, husband.
Told myself sternly to tidy up house and clean kitchen.
Checked email.
Told myself that I would tidy up house and clean kitchen… right after checking out SDMB and Fark. And maybe Ask Metafilter. And Cute Overload. And…

After my usual pot of coffee I drove the Triumph over to a friend’s place. (I could’ve walked, but I’m taking advantage of the nice weather.) He was having a yard sale, and I thought he was packing everything else into a truck afterward. Only that’s not until next week. I’ll help him then. So I hung out with my friend and his girlfriend(?). Chatted, had some coffee. Pet the dog. I ended up buying his crock pot and a bottle opener that plays a recorded bit of Homer Simpson dialog when you put it on the cap.

Came home, ate breakfast around 2:00, tinkered with the Triumph a little bit, and… I guess that’s about it. Been a lazy day.

[ul]
[li]Woke up to the smell of sausage and pancakes, had a glass of orange juice[/li][li]walked down Windsor Street toward the river, then ran along the Charles[/li][li]Home, glass of water, listened to Arvo Part’s Miserere[/li][li]read a bit of Watership Down by Richard Adams[/li][li]txt msgd old man[/li][li]shower[/li][li]heading out to have tea, earl grey, at my favorite tea shop[/li][/ul]

I’ve spent most of the day catching up on some much needed sleep.

My plan for the rest of it is to read the dope, do some much needed spring cleaning and then stop by Trader Joe’s for groceries.

-woke up
-necessary morning functions, then shower
-play with cats
-answer phone. was wife wishing me a Happy B-day. (She is away on a business trip.)
-check the Dope
-check email. read obituary of a friend and fellow coach who died Friday
-made myself a Bloody Mary (extra horseradish) for breakfast
-and that’s about it so far today

Got up, made coffee, drank said coffee, cruised the SDMB, various news sites. That’s it. I feel guilty.

I woke up around 8am, puttered around online for a while, played EVE Online for a bit. Then I worked on processing photos from my trip to Vermont, editing and making them somewhat acceptable photos. I had a bowl of Kroger brand Cheerios and a breakfast bar. Watched some episodes of Hustle, watched last week’s episode of American Inventor, then put on Serenity until noon when the gym opened. I hit the gym for a short workout on the rowing machine and the ab machine, then came home to catch the end of Serenity and took a shower. Am watching Chronicles of Riddick now and reading blogs. Need to advance the laundry and plan for dinner.

Yup, lazy day.

[ul][li]Was up at 4:30am to puke. No idea why. [/li][li]Woke up for the day at around 11am.[/li][li]Got on the computer.[/ul][/li]That’s it so far, and it’s almost 1:45pm … I like to ease into my Sundays.

I’m about to head downstairs and get some lunch, and probably burn a DVD: last summer I got a DVD burner, and started copying an old TV series* that I taped many moons ago (roughly 140 episodes, and 2 fit on each disc; I’m finally down to the last 10 episodes!). At some point today I will also watch a movie (I rented Kairo (Pulse) and it’s already loaded in the DVD player), call my mother, do some homework, and maybe do some housework. And probably lots more web surfing.

*The entire series is not commercially available on either VHS or DVD. The moment it’s released on DVD I’ll buy it.

I went to bed at four a.m., woke up at ten a.m. I’ve been doing little chores and goofing off the last four hours.

Mostly just chores: washing clothes, working in newly started garden (still in the till soil/add soli and remove excess rocks stage), cleaning bedroom and bathroom, washing dishes. Will have to put off grocery shopping later in the week. Still have to schelp stuff across town to sister’s on public transportation. On a Sunday. (Fun.)

Start new job tomorrow and plan to be asleep by 11p.m. at the very latest.

No.

Sorry, I’d forgotten I posted here. It didn’t start until after I’d gone to bed; about three inches here. Stupid forecasters - I wanted a snow day!

Up at 6:20. Drove son to his friend’s house (he is off on a ski trip/college visit).

Drove home, made coffee, drank coffee, shaved, ate toast and muffins.

Church, then a meeting at church about our budget.

Grocery shopping, lunch.

Washed both cars. Fixed headlamp on my car.

Wasted time on the Dope.

Now need to start dinner.

Regards,
Shodan

Got up early for a Sunday, 8:30!

Had a cup of Joe with a little milk no sugar
Skimmed the paper, real estate, job ads, opinion page
took a shower and shaved the legs
ate a banana
kicked into high gear realizing that it was only 45 min before yoga started and I need 30 min to drive there.
got dressed in a flash, grabbed a yogurt and my yoga mat.
zoomed to yoga, tried not to get tense behind slow going church goers who start slowing down a mile before their church driveway.
Had a wonderful yoga session, though I chickened out on handstand and could only grunt and kick up but not stay up.
Leisurely drove home, was starving but managed to stay out of fast food drive-thrus
Ate big salad once at home
followed the kids outside and sat in the yard and melted in the glorious warm sunshine.
Watched water striders and minnows in the lake
petted the cat a long time
went back inside to check email and surf on the web.
asked hubby to start charcoal for pork tenderloins (premarinated ina bag)
Ate dinner with a glass of merlot
heading to the deck for sunset
Bye!

Also got up early this morning: 7:45am. I’m trying to force myself to get better sleep, to avoid taking meds. Nothing like being scared into a routine.

Went to Fry’s in Renton. Mr. Stasaeon is building a computer.
Got home, hubby begins building. Realises there’s a part missing. He drives back to Renton while I enjoy a quiet cup of coffee and peruse the Dope.
He comes home empty handed, since he was told the part he believed was missing was actually built into another part. Smacks himself in the head when he finds the part, as I point and laugh.
Hubby discovers a cable is missing. He thought he’d bought one, but hadn’t. We both go back to Renton.
We find the part, grab a snack, and come home. Hubby proceeds with the building of the computer.
I took a short doze on the sofa with my cat curled up beside me.
You guessed it: we were missing an Ethernet card. We drive back down to Renton.
We stop and grab groceries for dinner tonight.
I’m sitting here, tired from all the driving (about an hour’s trip back and forth, all said and done, so I’ve been a passenger for at least three hours today. Hubby is finishing up his computer. There is much grunting, slamming, and clanking going on over there. The table is wobbly. Sometimes he giggles. I think he’s going mad.
I continue to point and laugh.
I think I’m going to go make some chocolate milk. I may point and laugh some more. Depends on how close to the brink of madness the husband is.

You know, when this started, he assured me that the project shouldn’t take longer than a half an hour. It is to (point and) laugh.

Woke up before dawn.

Had breakfast while cruising the net and checking weather.

Drove halfway to airport. Stopped to call Flight Service for a weather update, mainly to see if the fog had lifted. Got a cranky briefer, but also got my weather update.

Drove rest of the way to airport.

Was informed the instructor I was planning to work with (refresher training) was off having a nice big ol’ greasy breakfast and would catch up with me, so go ahead and pre-flight.

Pre-flight was kinda interesting, what with not being able to find any of the guys who drive the gas truck or, for that matter, the gas truck itself. Also interrupted by various and sundry friendly faces (including one gent who found the gas guy for me), pulling weeds out of the wheels and landing gear springs, and all the usual crawling around around and under and over looking for something wrong.

Went up. Beautiful day, crapload of traffic. In addition to brushing up on landings, did a stall series, emphasis on power-on and improving recovery techniques from deep stalls.

Headed back home, refresher training accomplished.

Saw a very large bird, mostly brown, with white head and tail and a big yellow beak. Whoa --! Circled back around around. Yes, that IS a bald eagle! Flew along and above at a safe distance for both of us, very majestic. (Not only do I not want to interfere with wildlife, but large raptors have been known to attack small planes. This is not good for either bird or airplane.)

Got in line for the runway. We had 4 in the pattern and 6 on the ground waiting their turn. Yes, it was a busy day. Landed, put away airplane, paid bill, yakked a bit,

Drove home.

Ate leftover Subway sandwhich from yesterday.

Moved some lumber in the apartment above us (the Other Half and I get a break on the rent for doing some things around this place)

Went down to the local RC model airplane field and yakked with the guys there.

Came home and watched TV

Now I’m sitting here typing this post.

Definitely, the day is winding down.

Saw the director’s commentary on Serenity, then went to see Carol Channing perform (Yes, she’s still performing, and still has a star quality in her mid-80s).

Woke up 6:30ish. Peed and drank about a half liter of water (normal routine for a preggo lady).

Ate some Mini Wheats.

Took a shower.

Printed up Grocery Game lists for coupons and such.

9:15am Went to the barn to watch some of the playday/horseback games going on there. Mucked stalls (carefully).

10:45am met hubby for our Sunday Starbucks. Had a nonfat toffee nut latte on ice and a lowfat apricot blueberry muffin. Read the paper.

11:30am returned to the barn to watch more of the playday, although it was warm enough I hosed off my (normally white, more yellow, brown, and green this morning) mare, washing her mane and clipping her legs. Then sat with her tied to a post and happily grazing while we watched more of the events, pausing for snacks etc.

3:30pm come home for a snack and a nap.

4:30pm go online and fart around…and here I still am.

Up at 12:30 AM to let puppy out.

Up at 4:30 AM to let puppy out.

Up at 6:30 AM to let puppy out.

Up at 9:20 AM to clean up puppy mess. Puppy drank a wee bit too much water before bed, alas, on Saturday night.

Watched that silly animals show.

Row with husband. I didn’t put paint lid on can firmly enough, primer spilled. Husband angry. Husband yell, swear, and clean up.

Took puppy out.

Watched March of the Penguins. Ate potato chips. Pondered the possibility of PMS.

Took puppy out, resumed March-watching.

Watched special feature, which was almost the movie all over again. Began to fall asleep.

Took puppy out.

Watched some television with puppy, feeling like a slobby sloth. Why do I watch “Sell This House”? I am not trying to sell a house. Watched Alton Brown. I love Alton Brown. Wished fervently to enter the television and devour his creme brulee.

Took puppy out.

Took shower.

Took puppy out for a walk. Puppy did not want to walk on new leash. Puppy played sit-down. Asked puppy “do you want to go home?” Puppy immediately walks like an angel in the homeward direction. Warned puppy we’d have to go around the block one more time, as we hadn’t even left our little area yet. Puppy reached driveway, and puppy is not stupid. Puppy was home.

Puppy resumed her spot on the couch.

Went out to the back yard and planted the flowers I bought yesterday. We will see which ones the deer eat. My bet is all. “Gardened” a bit more.

Came inside, husband has started his taxes.

Loaded dishwasher, tidied kitchen, put rice on to cook.

Took puppy out.

Rice is cooking. Sitting at computer.

Dinner soon. And the guilty TV of Funniest Videos will follow. I will try to walk puppy again tonight, but not with the new retractable leash, just the plain leash which I can drop and let her just drag along. She likes that better, but she can’t do that outside the complex! Traffic!

Puppy really liked yesterday’s walk, though. We went to this nearby hitherto undiscovered park, and saw ducks and squirrels, and no one was around, so puppy walked with the leash dropped.

Slept in till 8.

Went to the Egg and I for breakfast. Got a free orange juice!

Drove to the union hall to vote on whether to strike. There was a pretty good turnout, and many people took turns speaking. Should find out this evening how the vote went, I think.

Picked up some extra hours for work Monday, then went shopping at Target for groceries.

Filled the tank ($2.44 a gallon. Holy crap).

Swept and mopped the kitchen floor while my roommates were out of the house, which is typically never.

Did four loads of laundry.

Had brie and fresh raspberries on fancy crackers for dinner, and washed it all down with a Guinness.

Had a nice phone chat with a boy who seems interested in me, but he’s out of my age range (10 years in either direction) and I haven’t decided yet whether to pursue it or not.

Prepared everything I need for work tomorrow.

Remembered that I forgot to call my mom. Poop.

Pulled out the laptop to check email and surf SDMB.
