I really like the recurring sandwich as pot gag. Most of the cheesy stoned jokes in this episode weren’t good, but “It’s a sign, dude” did make me laugh.
Robin not breaking up with Kal is weak writing.

Kevin beautifully professed love for Robin in the hospital. Barney had told Robin he likes her “because she’s almost as messed up as he is.” At some point she weighed her options and went with what sounded better, not with what is probably cosmically “right.”
It’s not a surprise. That why he told her not to say what happened, because he probably already knew.
I liked the episode. I figured out pretty early on that Ted and Marshall were so stoned they were really only out there for a few minutes and didn’t realize it. That said, “it’s a sign, dude” was hilarious.
I like Nora and I like Nora’s character, but I’ll be extremely disappointed if she and Barney get back together. From Nora’s perspective…what in the hell does she see in Barney? He’s a serial hook-up artist who habitually lies to the point where even he can’t tell the truth, self centered, immature, and he cheated on her. There’s simply no reason why Nora, as written, would ever want to communicate with Barney again.
So yeah, it’s probably Barney and Nora’s wedding.
Clearly. He manipulated the situation (and Robin) when he saw where things were going and manipulated her to get things back to where he wanted them.
He’s using his therapist abilities for evil.

OK, so what about Lily kissing that guy? Was that part of the sandwich-induced paranoia or did she actually do that?
I had completely forgotten that scene until I accidentally re-watched the episode last night. What’s up with Lily?
I predict that Kevin turns out not to be a therapist at all.
That was definitely Marshall’s imagination. He figured that his inability to procure nachos for his wife would lead her to leave him.
For a guy that was a better provider (nachos!) and could actually grow beard.

Yea, in the clip Lily is frustrated its taking them so long to find nachos. But in reality, they were just gone a few minutes, so its definitely in Marshalls head.
Right. Thanks. Mayeb now I can stop worrying about Lily and get some work done!
It’s really got to be Robin Barney marries. When Lily comes to the door and tells Ted all meaningfully and dramatically the “the bride wants to see” him, that would make zero sense if it were Nora. That line ruined any possible suspense for me.
But I’m weird! I actually really liked this episode, I liked how it was written for Robin to not break up with Kevin, and I don’t even really mind her hair all that much.
Given the episode title, it would have been funny to have Patrick Warburton do a cameo.
Heh.
I didn’t hate the episode, but I love the show and watch it in re-runs constantly. I do agree that it is getting more drama-ey and less funny this season though - I blame the baby. Next season will probably be the last - it’s had a good run, and now it’s almost over (they’re growing up, and settled down, married, baby-making stable couples just aren’t that funny).
I’m still going with Robin as the person Barney is marrying. My reason has been that no other woman will have him, and I see no reason to change that now.
