Bumping for last night’s.
I guess Ted will finally move into his house that he bought and has been fixing up for a couple of years now.

Doubtful, I suspect he’ll still live in the city along with everyone else.
I wish people would just throw real-estate at me, the way they seem to at Marshall and Lily.
I don’t know. I think they’re winding down. Besides, I don’t think we know where Ted’s house is. I figured it was in Brooklyn or Queens, which is close enough to the city for story purposes. Remember, Robin lived in Brooklyn for the first 3-4 seasons.
I hope they find something different for him to do. If the show is going to keep treading water for another season and a half, they really need to find some new plots beyond relationship drama.
Also, Patrice is my new guess for the mother. (well probably not, but she should be).
Interesting thought. He was talking like he was going to go travel the world or something, but maybe he’ll just start commuting.
Is it possible the Barney will marry Quinn, not Robin? Could this BE?
I thought they suggested that the house was in Westchester, or some other place upstate.
I’ve been watching the first couple of seasons on Netflix. In season one, Future Ted tell his kids something like, “… and that stripper was your mother.” If Barney marries Quinn, which is possible, and The Mother is one of her co-workers, earning money for her degree at Columbia (Strippers can make serious dough), then she could be at Barney’s wedding.
I thought there was a, “Just kidding!” after, “…and that stripper was your mother.”
Yeah - it’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but I seem to remember it taking a very long time to get there.
I can’t remember why I thought the house was upstate, but didn’t they go there to be safe from the hurricane that hit New York? Also, I thought Ted says that he’s heading “up” to his house. I don’t think he’d say that if the house was on Long Island, or in Connecticut or New Jersey.
I do remember a reference to them going to his house to ride out the 'cane.
And didn’t the house seem to have a lot of backyard to be in the city? Plus, and I realize real estate is essentially free in sit-coms, but the size of seemed to be out of reach for any amount of money Ted could be realistically earning.
Of course, I’m a Midwest boy, so I have no idea if a neighborhood like that exists within the confines of NYC.
Yes - but Future Ted is a bit of a dick to his kids. They haven’t had a bathroom break in seven years.
He’s the lead architect on a Manhatten sky-scraper. I have no idea how much money that pulls in, but I’d think he’s pretty wealthy. And he’s a prof at NYU. Plus, recall that the house itself was about to be condemed.
Except for the first season (when Marshall and Ted share a Manhatten apartment despite having one low-level architect job between them) HIMYM is pretty realistic regarding its protagonists living accommodations. At least compared to other sitcoms. Barney and Ted are rich and live in nice Manhatten apartments, Lily is a school teacher and lives in a slum, Marshall is sometimes a well paid lawyer, sometimes a not so well paid environmentalist and sometimes unemployed, and his living situation similarly vacillates.
Dunno how much a local TV anchor makes, so I have no idea if Robin is realistic. I think she has a rich family as well, so she might be getting money from her folks while she works at her researcher job. Either that or she’s mooching off Ted and been staying with him rent free.
I’m pretty sure that Ted’s house is in Westchester County, full of wealthy bedroom communities up the Hudson from NYC, upstate to people from NYC, but definitely downstate to real upstaters. He got it for almost nothing because it was in such bad shape. He wanted them to all ride out the hurricane up there, but they squabbled so much, they weren’t able to leave before all the bridges and roads closed.
Okay, I’m just watching the episode where Barney meets his father; his father says that he’s a driving instructor in White Plains, New York, and Ted’s house is 10 minutes away from where Barney’s father lives.
