How I Met Your Mother

I couldn’t find a thread on the last episode so I’ll start one.

What did you guys think?

The pijama suit was awesome!

One thing I just love about this show is the make up work, either when they age the characters or make them look younger. This is becoming my favorite comedy.

I also loved all of the stuff happening on the show while the rest of the gang was oblivious.

What a night, she put out a fire, resuscitated the anchor and delivered a baby.

Love her comment about having placenta on her jacket.

I thought they did a great job of having three separate stories going at the same time and being able to flesh all of them out. The ending with the hot chick deciding to not sleep with Barney because he wasn’t wearing sexy pajamas.

I wonder if suit pajamas are actually for sale.

I think this is by far the best comedy on tv now. I’m a little sad that there are so many threads for The Office, 30 Rock and even Big Bang theory, but almost none for this show.

Does anyone else think this episode was a big setup for the reveal that “Aunt Robin” is actually “Mother Robin”?

Oh, and season finale spoilers:

According to the creators, we’ll find out who the mother is in this year’s finale

Future Mother owned a yellow umbrella that Ted now has (though we haven’t seen it lately)…so Mother turning out to be Robin would be wrong wrong wrong (and the Future Kids on the couch would be rightly pissed too!). Not to say that I wouldn’t put Ted and Robin getting married (and later divorcing but staying friends) past the writers…

I would have broken up with a girl if she liked Creed too…

Something I thought of last night, we’re only going to find out who the mother of the kids are, right? That doesn’t mean that Ted is still with the mother…or has he ever blatently said that their mother is his current wife?

So, the woman with the yellow umbrella is the kids Mom. Great… but maybe something happens and the big reveal in the series finale is that he’s with Robin now. So he’s already told them the story of “How I met your step-mother.”

Anyone else with me on this?

She’s “Aunt Robin” to the kids, so no, I doubt Ted and her are married when Ted has morphed into Bob Saget…

But doesn’t he call Robin “aunt Robin”. And besides, it would be too weird if it was her now. What with the guns, and Barney and not least the musical career.

Actually, I’m pretty sure that future Ted does call her “your Aunt Robin.”

Yeah. That was the whole joke of the very first episode, where they set up their romantic relationship. “And that’s how I met…your aunt Robin.”

He calls her that in nearly every episode.

The nice thing about the pajama suit was that it brought us back to Barney’s first-season obsession with business suits. It doesn’t seem to have come up very much lately and he doesn’t say “Suit up” any more.

Still one of my favorite shows each week. If we did a weekly thread, I would participate (although I never watch my recorded shows until Friday or Saturday.)

I lost the sound when Ted and Robin were talking. What were they talking about?

At the very end they agreed to be each other’s back up spouses, in case neither was married when they got to be 40 years old.

So is there any chance that “Ted” isn’t even the narrator?

Could it be the “Barnicle”? Or Marshall? Or some other male we haven’t met yet?

Sorry watching "Lost"has made me question the obvious…

MtM

No. He has referred to Uncle Marshall and Uncle Barney more than once, so I don’t think so.

And he always refers to himself in the first person when talking about Ted.
