This. Watching the king leopard eat the lesser leopards faces is always entertaining, no doubt. Pirro will likely be gone by the end of the week at the latest I think. (I voted for Friday in the poll.) But Pirro has demonstrated she’s not utterly willing to break the law or destroy her own reputation on Trump’s whim. So she no longer has utility to him. She’ll be under bussed quickly. Only to be replaced by somebody else even more venal and corrupt, loyal and incompetent Just look at the transition from Bondi to Blanche in the AG’s office. That’s the blueprint that will be followed here.

Okay, enough with the cracks about defenestration. This is P&E, and the OP has asked a question about when/if Jeanine Pirro is going to be fired. If you want to make comparisons to Putin’s Russia, Trump’s general incompetence (specifics about Pirro are fine of course), you have other threads to do it in.

That’s the part that kills me about this. None of us have ever met Trump in person, but we all know from watching him that “actual evidence” isn’t something he gives a shit about, or will listen to, especially if it contradicts him. How can someone who’s worked directly with Trump for so many years not understand that even better than we do?!?
This is a bit of a surprise. I would hope that anyone taking this job would want to continue being a lawyer after Trump’s presidency is over, but we’ll see…

And the thing is, in his old “businessman” life, Trump would have loved this. He was known for accusing contractors of shoddy work and making them sue him to get paid. Maybe Pirro thought she could appeal to that. The problem is that Trump made this renovation all about him and not just a job so he can’t do that.
It is amazing how trump can appoint the most vile, despicable people to these important posts, and then replace them with someone even worse when they “disappoint” him.
I was going to say, it’s like she doesn’t know Trump at all. What made her think this was going to matter to him?
Maybe the box didn’t contain evidence, but something that would be more likely to appeal to Diaper Don. Probably something bright and shiny.
Perhaps ironically Pirro’s thinking can maybe be explained by another well-worn Republican trope. Self delusion.
He does like colorful, big photos. That is something that has been mentioned (in all seriousness) by officials who have attended intelligence briefings with him. But that’s to keep his attention, not to actually convince him of something.
If you want to persuade him, just explain what he will get from it, and make sure it’s something he likes. In this case, Pirro should have tried to explain how shifting the blame could end up hurting someone else he hates in a way that a failed prosecution against an innocent person never could.

I met him when I worked at Microsoft, maybe 2007ish? He certainly changed after leaving msft and becoming governor. Or to say it a different way, Bergum of today is unrecognizable now that he doesn’t pretend to do DEI.
