4 8oz cups usually. It’s a vehicle for my daily pint of heavy cream.
I answered zero cups. I don’t drink coffee, never have… However, I do drink way more then 4 cups worth of caffeine in a day, I just get it from other sources (soda mostly)
Usually one a day, but it’s not “to get me going.” I’ve drunk water or juice or tea instead in the morning. I might have a couple of cups of tea during the day too, green or black.
Zero cups. I kind of like the smell but can’t stand the taste- I can’t even get myself to like coffee-flavored candy or ice cream.
Zero.
Tried drinking coffee once in my teen years. Hated the taste on the first sip, and have had no interest in it ever since.
I should have read the OP before I voted. I was assuming 12 Oz mugs were “a cup”, not those tiny, girly cups. Add one to the “Over four” and subtract one from the “4 cups” results.
Weekends and telecommuting days, one pot per day. The pot claims to hold ‘12 cups’, but it only fills my mug five or six times. I drink it black.
I have a 16- or 20-ounce travel mug that I fill with ‘Extra Caffeine’ coffee at the gas station on my way to work on commuting days. I put three of those little tubs of amaretto creamer in it. I usually have three cups of crappy coffee (black) at work.
Sometimes, in addition to the pot I’ll have at home, I’ll make some ‘espresso’ in my ‘six-cup’ (really a mug and a half) moka pot, and have it with milk and sugar.
I’ve been known to get eight- or ten-shot espressos in a single cup at Starbucks.
Hell, I drink that much on the walk from the coffee maker back to my desk. If that’s what you call a cup, then I drink 10 or 15 cups a day. I cut back a few years ago. I used to drink 15 or 20.
Four shots of espresso in the morning, but all in the same cup
You had no option for me - I love coffee, but I can’t tolerate caffeine plus I have a bad stomach, so I’m at zero.
Yep.
Coffee ice cream is my favourite, and I don’t mind ice coffee with lots of cream and ice cream in it. I wouldn’t drink the hot stuff though, don’t like the whole caffeine thing. I prefer teas, usually green tea. I find the stimulant action of tea to be very different to coffee, somehow more mellow.
One to two pots per day, that’s right, per day!
I get 9 hours of sleep too.
Not once have I consumed either coffee or tea.
When you guys are talking about coffee. Do you mean the “instant” stuff, the espresso stuff or some other percolated stuff. is it Decaf or flavoured?
Am looking around the control room now here at work in Italy, the guys are returning from their lunch. Most of the Italians are drinking what looks like hot tar in a plastic cup the size of a shot glass. Some of them have poured it neat so its still only about a centimetre deep in the bottom of the cup, some have half topped it up with water.
I love the smell of it but it ruins my stomach so dont touch it more than once or twice a month.I tried this ‘quarter shot glass of espresso’ once and I was tasting it for the rest of the day!
In the US, “coffee” means “the percolated stuff”, except that nobody uses a percolator any more*. Drip coffee makers are used instead, mostly.
*Actually, we have a percolator for going camping. (Do people go camping in Italy?)
Moving thread from IMHO to, well…duh!
A 32 oz. French Press full a day, so I voted 4 cups. I love coffee.
I make a 4-cup pot about every morning; it fills my coffee mug one and a half times.
I drink about two and a half cups in the morning while getting ready for work, and then another cup and a half once I get here.
I never thought that was a lot; sometimes on the weekend I drink most of a whole pot. I was surprised that four cups was the top choice in the poll.
I drink two cups of caffeine coffee in the morning and then decaf throughout the rest of the day
