How Many Cups of Coffee Do you Drink Per Day?

0-2, for which there is no poll option.

Define ‘cup’. (Actually, I think I started such a thread.) When I commute to Seattle, I drink one cup of coffee. It’s a 30-ounce cup. I may have more in the office. When I telecommute, I drink two ‘12-cup’ pots of coffee (minus a mug and a half that Mrs. L.A. drinks). Currently, that’s about 7 ‘cups’ of coffee. I drink more ‘cups’ of coffee when I use a smaller mug.

Less than 1 a day, but I voted for 1-2.

I drink anything from five to 10, depending how tight the deadline I’m on is. Even when I’m not working, it’s highly unusual for me to drink less than three cups per day.

It smells foul. Really foul.

I got sucked into smoking and that took a ridiculous amount of effort to quit, and you think I should be interested in taking up another foul addiction? Really?

And finally I hate all the fuss people make over their stupid smelly addiction. Coffee drinkers are worse than smokers; at least smokers have the wit to be ashamed of their stupid smelly addiction and to shut up about it. I would literally rather listen to stoners drone on about their stupid smelly addiction like it was the cure for cancer.

Never been into coffee or tea or hot beverages generally. I used to drink cocoa as a kid, but only because that was expected of me. If I ever need something warm, such as during recovery of an illness, I’ll have soup.

I do, however, drink rather too much Coke Zero, so I can’t claim I don’t consume caffeine, just considerably less than coffee. I doubt I have any kind of addiction to it.

Zero, I rarely drink coffee because I dislike it. No matter how much cream, sugar and accessories I throw at it, I don’t like coffee. I only enjoy cold coffee drinks, like ice blended mocha.

My coffeemaker considers a cup 5 oz (I think). If I make 4 “cups” it fills a large cup (it’s that brand/style there was a post about here one time that assumed everyone knew what it was, but I don’t remember the name). I drink that 20 oz-ish cup one per day max. Some days I don’t have it. I take 100 mg caffeine in pill form around 4 days per week also, while avoiding any caffeinated sugar water and “energy drinks.”

There’s a big difference between coffee and smoking. Smoking is extremely unhealthy and shortens your life, whereas research points towards coffee being good for you.

Also, tobacco smoke deposits itself on things and the odor lingers even after the smoke is gone. It ruins clothes, furniture and other things. The smell of coffee fades away once the coffee is gone.

It’s a shame coffee sizes in the US aren’t measured in ml.

You have 750 grams (0.75 kilo ) of pure caffeine? A cup of coffee normal contains 75 to 125 MILLIGRAMS of caffeine. What you have is equivalent to 10 000 cups of coffee,so either you have very peculiar math or you mistyped something.

No, that’s my supply. I consume about the equivalent of 1-1.5 cups of coffee. About 150-250mg day.

I drink coffee very occasionally (perhaps once a month now). I drink tea at work for the sake of my nerves. I find coffee makes me snippy at people.

Once or twice a week.

Neither my wife or I normally drink coffee, but my FIL needed to have coffee every couple of hours so we kept a can of Maxwell House crystals for whenever he stayed with us. After he passed away last year, we still had the coffee, so I brought it to work and have a cup every few days.

You know, if you don’t stop drinking the caffeine during the day, you never get the crash. :stuck_out_tongue:
I drink 0 cups of coffee. I watched my mother fail to function in the mornings until after her second cup, and decided I didn’t need that in my life. Besides, it tastes like battery acid. Bad battery acid.:dubious:

Usually 2. Occasinally 3, or 1, or zero. On “zero” days, I’ll usually drink tea at some point during the day.

I’m surprised at how many non-coffee-drinkers there are among Dopers (though there may be something of a poll response bias).

Blech. I won’t even eat coffee ice cream.

There’s not enough cream and sugar in the world to get rid of the bitterness. And there are many other ways to get a caffeine infusion if you need it.

Iced tea for breakfast and at restaurants, or water with lemon after 3pm if I have to get up in the morning. Where I grew up, no one had to ask if I wanted that tea sweetened or unsweetened, because if I wanted sweet tea I would have asked for it if it was on the menu. If the menu didn’t specify, iced tea was just iced tea.

I like hot tea, but not enough to make it regularly. Does anyone make sugar-free hot cocoa mix? We are avoiding sugar, so no hot cocoa for me unless I’m really, really cold.

maybe I’m reading it wrong, but your statement does not add up.

Also, I’ve never understood how or why anyone would or could actually enjoy cold coffee.
