How many eggs do you eat for breakfast?

I had one egg this morning, over hard, with tocino-flavored Spam, fried bread, and a slice of American cheese. My beverage was hot tea with honey and lemon, to cut through all the accompanying grease.

I almost never eat breakfast at all. So the median number of eggs I eat for breakfast is zero. That would also be the mode. The mean would be somewhere in the neighborhood of .01 or .02; I’m sure that in the past year, I’ve had no more than half a dozen eggs for breakfast, total.

Despite my HS French teacher explaining with great amusement that one egg is un oeuf, I generally eat 3 for breakfast, pretty much daily if there are enough eggs in the house.

When I WFH during Covid, this was as an omelet but now that I go to the office I bring 3 hard-boiled ones. I rarely have toast or potatoes, both because of carb-avoidance and time.

If I’m in a restaurant where they offer all the extras, I would get 2-3 fried eggs, to soak the potatoes in the yolk, and sop up the rest with the toast.

None. I make a quiche once or twice a month. Other than that we only use eggs for baking.

I rarely have eggs for breakfast, but if I do it is one in an egg sandwich, or two scrambled.

Lefou, I’m afraid I’ve been thinking…

A dangerous pastime I know…

Two is it, no more, no less.
Boiled, poached, omelette (usually smoked trout and mozzarella), scrambled, shirred, egg in a basket (not the fried egg version, I mean like this) or my personal favourite, shakshouka:

One egg if its eggy-in-the-basket, or a boiled egg with soldiers, or a muffin with an egg in it
Two eggs if it’s part of a full English, or if it’s a fried egg sandwich in sliced bread
Two or three if they are scrambled
Three in an omelette

Huh, I’ve never seen that preparation. It looks good. Maybe too much bother just for me, though. (Buying ham, which we don’t usually have, pulling out the muffin tin and cleaning it. Putting away the muffin tin. Why yes, the muffin tin lives in a marginally accessible spot.)

We have a silicone muffin tray so clean-up is not an issue. I generally make it with just egg or egg with cheese gratin, no meat.
ETA: Or with smoked fish (snoek, trout or haddock) and Japanese seasoning (furikake)

I also make a full tray (6) even if it’s just me, they keep for a couple days refrigerated.

Shakshouka with duck eggs is amazing.

0-4, but usually 0

…and the number of the counting shall be one. Two is Right Out!

Seriously, just one for me each morning. Scrambled usually, often in a homemade chorizo.

My muffin tin makes 12 muffins, and is large, and lives on a high shelf underneath the popover tins, which get more use. When i make muffins (or cupcakes) at all, i usually make a lot and bring them somewhere.

Hmm, a small silicone muffin “tin”. Something to think about.

They cost like $10, and are so worth it. Silicone bakewear generally is, but this, especially.
