How many miles a day to you commute? Roundtrip

Round trip - about 80 miles (outer suburbs into Boston), I think. Not exactly sure.

Thank goodness for public transportation!

A quaint little old mill town called North Berwick, with a big factory on the outskirts. Saco is a little further north.

I used to live about 1.8 miles round trip from work.

I moved to New England for a New Job, and real estate prices were a lot higher, so I live further out. I now have about a 50-55 mile round trip drive. All freeway, though, fairly easy, rare traffic problems (only when we have accidents or bad weather).

Do you post from the rig? Are you there now?

Home to work is about 10 miles, but after work I go to the barn to feed my horse, which adds another 8 miles or so onto my commute. Altogether I’d say about 28.

Due to the wonders of modern technology, yes I’m in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico as I type.

185 miles on Sunday evening. 10 miles round trip for Monday - Wednesday. 5 miles to work on Thursday and then, finally, 185 miles home on Thursday evening. Except this week where I’ll be staying 'til Friday. All of it by car. Don’t worry 'bout me though, I rake it in on mileage reimbursement.

5 miles, one way by car, maybe 3.5 by bike or foot. It still takes me as long as elfje on a bike, but then, I have significant hills and a very difficult park to ride through.

33 miles RT. An blend of back roads and cow pastures, and 7 minutes on the highway.

coordinates? How’s the weather there? And do you have a picture or two of the place?

70 miles roundtrip - Uptown area of Chicago to Barrington, IL.

Sucks majorly.

18 miles, all surface streets, primarily through residential areas. Three school zones (25mph) and some REALLY bad potholes. But not bad.

Waiting to see pictures of that oil rig. Those things, and the idea of living on one, fascinate me.

I commute 20 miles rt. It’s usually not bad, about 10 minutes of easy, fast moving freeway in the morning, and 25-40 minutes of considerably slower surface streets in the evening.

I have a rule of thumb in this area which I will now share: If you can actually see your commute on a 12-inch globe of the world, you’re commuting too far.

About 76 miles round trip. Fortunately it’s a reverse commute so it takes me about half an hour to get to work (driving around 80 most of the way) and about 45 minutes to get home (traffic’s worse on the home trip for some reason).

Why’s everyone addressing their comments to me? I just got here!

My commute’s 57 miles roundtrip, almost entirely highway driving. Takes about 40 minutes each way. Not bad at all for the DC area.

Maybe I should start one of those annoying “Ask the guy… threads”

Mine is 9 miles round trip. My commute time is about ten minutes each way. At my last job I drove about 20 miles round trip and it took 25-30 minutes each way. I was also making about half as much money then as I do now. With the current gas prices I’d hate to still be working at my former job.

6 mile to the main job - another 3 to the secondary. Not too shabby.
