Well, I’m having Napster look for the exact number now . . . I know for certain that it’s over 1000. Napster’s a recent acquisition, most of those I acquired digging through the school network. Ah yes, 1107. I don’t have an award winning number, but I’ve got one of the larger collections on campus, and I like it that way. Now, if only I could get that second hard drive I’ve been wanting . . .

Just over a thousand on this computer. I’ve also got about 1500 - 2000 in my car, with overlap of probably several hundred.

I don’t use Napster, and I really don’t have too many MP3s that I don’t “own”. I have ripped most of my MP3s from my CD collection. I probably only have about 10-20 MP3s (if that) that I don’t “own”.
I think my total is about 200. I don’t feel like checking right now.
557 MP3’s, or a bit over 2 GB.
I own about 250 “normal” music CD’s.
I’m not impressing anyone here, that’s for sure. Now, if I were to LIST my CD collection, y’all would be impressed

The only thing that slowed my collecting down was that my hard drive is running out of space.

I just cleaned up all the ones that were under 128kbps and those that weren’t complete, even if only a few seconds were missing at the end. Annoying when you’re trying to sing that last chord and it cuts off and breaks into something completely different.
I have gotten most of those songs from the net, although I’ve ripped a few from some of my cd’s. I don’t know if I want to put all my cd’s on mp3. I’d need another HD to do that. I’ve only got 18GB, and the mp3 partition of mine is only about 6, and it’s about full.
Winamp says I have over 65hrs of music. I’d never listen to them all anyway.
How about ya’ll? How many hours, and how likely you’d ever listen to all those mp3s?
i have 241 right now, but i have had up to about 600 or so… no idea how many hours that is, but i like pretty much all my songs, and the others ones my sister likes, so i’d say that all of them get listened to at least once in ahwile.
Where does Winamp tell you how many hours you have?
Mojo57, I actually bought a portable minidisc recorder instead of an MP3 player. You can easily swap media instead of having to redownload songs and you can send stuff directly from your PC (or record player, tape deck, etc…) to the minidisc. Minidiscs are curently ~$2.
I decided to be safe and back up my MP3s recently. I got all geeky and imported the directory into Excel so I have a list of what I have. 1136, so far.
At the bottom of the playlist editor. Just make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the list (the first time you add them in), as it keeps adding time on as it “sees” them in the window.
BTW, 224 according to Napster. About 70/30 stolen/owned.
