I really have 945 tunes on my computer?

Between ITunes downloads and CDs and Pandora being a crack enabler, it appears that I now have 945 songs on my computer.

Wow.

Yeah, yeah, M and P, I know…

I have 2,266 on mine. Although Henry Rollins’s Human Butt isn’t really a ‘song’.

Others here at The Dope have more than I.

I have 6,833.

12,084.

I have 12.

9,173 for me. My roommate has something like 28,000–she just finished backing it up, which took 34 DVDs.

If you let iTunes search your hard drive for .wav files, you’ll probably get a few hundred just from the standard Windows setup.

  1. I feel my manhood is threatened.

More frighteningly, my iTunes “purchased” folder says 650. Could I actually have spent that much over the last 2-3 years? Gah!

My mp3s number over at 6,233 right now. But the total playlist length is fairly exaggerated as about 200 of those tracks are DJ sets which are 1+ hours.

If I had more money and a bigger hard drive, I’d have twice that at least.

5144 on my machine, 6289 on my husband’s. We’ve probably got lots of the same songs, I’d say about a third of my music is also on his machine.

We lost a ton when the house was robbed. We ripped all of our CDs a couple of years ago. We’ve slowly been ripping them again or downloading off iTunes as we realize what’s missing. (Whatever was on his iPod was spared, as he had it with him at the time, so I ended up losing most of my music, I probably had 3 times that much.)

We had the music on 3 different machines, but all of them were stolen. We also had it all backed up on DVDs, but all of our software, DVDs, etc. were also stolen.

7024 songs, 18.2 days playing time.
plus a few podcasts.
And no, I haven’t listened to all of them.

I have 1,237 and my roommate has 7,848.

We’re working on getting more, though. My roommate works on a PC he pieced together from scrap parts (i.e. ungodly slow…but cheap!) and his library already crashed iTunes’ capabilities…had to switch to an SQL based media player instead (MusikCube)… (that was a headache and a half…)

5,697 here, over 16 GB.

7701, getting close to 35 GB. I’d definitely have more if I wasn’t on laptop with limited hard-drive space.

Dang. I have only 4.74 GB of MP3’s on my computer, and 6.41 GB worth of porn. Although to be fair, video takes a lot more space than audio.

I have 47 gigs of music on the hard drives, but none of the music is mp3s. It’s either in .wav or a lossless compression format that will soon be converted to .wav and made into CDs, as I get the time. I don’t really use my computer as a music playback device. It’s used more for recording and editing, then getting music off the drives onto a permanent storage medium.

  1. Wow. I would never have guessed it was that many.

Gah, amateurs…

29.874 files

But then, I’m a geek.

Quite a few of mine are sound files from Civilization III, inbetween tracks from Air and Mercury Rev are destroyers sinking and riflemen whooping

Roughly 8 CDs last time I backed up the machine, I’ve donated it to my girlfriend so I’ll have to back them all up again, or use the file transfer being discussed in GQ.
