Some guys (and a gal) were at work the other day talking about our sexual past. It started with being in the Marines, so they assumed that we just have sex with everyone. Anyway, we got talking about numbers, and we were all pretty far apart. First of all, I believe I was the only one being honest. Second, I think the guys were embellishing their numbers a little. Third, I think the girl was being a LITTLE conservative. So, for the hell of it.

  1. How many sexual partners have you had in your life?
  2. How old are you?
  3. Are you male or female?
  4. Are you gay or straight?

For the bonus question, which really has nothing to do with my super-scientific study, what was your best and worst?

I will go first:

  1. Around 125 partners.
  2. 30 years old.
  3. Male
  4. Straight

Bonus:

The worst was this one girl in Australlia, who had no idea what the hell she was doing, even though I believe she was on the experienced side. She just laid there, moaning and moaning (I believe she even came) with her legs straight on the bed while her friend videotaped us.

The best is my current wife, who is a fucking freak. I love it.

Well, as you want, I guess. But to make it easier, count oral, anal, hand, intercourse. And up my partner list by about 25.

Well, if 2 is your number I guess one of them would be your worst, and one would be your best. Unless they were both at the same time. If so, good for you.

Hundreds and stopped counting? NOT to hijack my own thread, only asking for a response from you (to keep this thread on subject), but do you find gays more promiscuous than straights? Or is that a stereotype?

Mostly straight. I think David Boreanez & Mandy Patinkin are cute, though, so who knows?

The best was a woman I spent an afternoon with about four years ago; it was just lovely, passionate, energetic, and a lot of other good adjectives.

The worst was the rape.

Hmm. I have a feeling this is going to turn ugly no matter how diplomatic I try to be. But…

I daresay, when taken as a unit, gays are more promiscuous than straights. This is not to say all of them are, or even most. The number is skewed because there is a sizeable contingent of gays who frequently cruise for sex in clubs, online, etc. Bear in mind there is also a (possibly larger, I wouldn’t know) contingent of gays who are partnered and monogamous, who don’t go to clubs, and whose lives don’t resemble “Queer as Folk.” Obviously they’re not as visible.

If I had to hypothesize as to why gays as a group tend to be more promiscuous, I’d say it’s because (warning: another possibly un-PC generalization ahead) guys are horndogs. Straight guys get the short end of the stick because women either aren’t as libidinous or are just socially conditioned not to act on every impulse. OTOH, when men are attracted to other men, and everyone is equally willing to “put out,” they’re going to go for it.

In other words, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if straight men would be more promiscuous if straight women were as well.

Uh, just going on the first have of my answer from question one, I’d have to say my most recent (like 2 years ago) ex was the best, due to an enormous amount of stamina. Sadly, the worst was my eventual-to-be-ex husband. :frowning: Great, great, great at oral, not so at much else.
