How may official warnings do you have?

15 years, zero warnings, zero Mod notes. I think tomndebb may have posted at me in a slightly annoyed tone once.

See, sucking up has its benefits!

I have negative two, thanks to some creative use of rum and chocolate.
I think that means I get away with my next two violations.

Pussies.

As Loach indicates, this is incorrect. The automated system has two options: we can issue what the system calls an “Infraction,” but what we call a “Warning” when issuing it on the board. There is also an option to issue what the system calls “Warnings,” which are essentially what we call “Mod Notes” on the board. However, we do not use this option. All official Warnings will show up as Infractions.

The discrepancy is due to the fact that we had already developed a terminology for Warnings and Mod Notes on the board before we installed the automatic system. In order to avoid confusion, we stuck with the original terminology rather than switch to the one used by the automated system.

I would mention that the vast majority of posters, even long-term prolific ones, have no warnings at all. We issue very few warnings relative to the number of posts and posters on the site. In the last 30 days, all moderators together have issued only 14 warnings out of 5000+ active members and more than 100,000 posts.

No warnings. No nothing. I’m really ignorable, though, so it’s tough to get warned for anything when nobody even talks to you to begin with.

Zero. I wish I had the same track record in real live over the same time period.

Why the hell can I type out venom, let it sit and then hit the DEL key on the Dope, but feel the need to say it in person? At least I’m getting better. . .

Ha, ha. Good one, DrDeth! Zero, zilch, nada for me. Haven’t been posting long, though. Youse guys with 40,000 posts without a warning, wow!

Who are you again? Awe shucks. I’ll talk to you. I could use some nice thoughts myself lately.

None that I know of. I’m a good girl, I am.

Three, believe it or not. Like Mr Cash I sometimes walk the line.

One, I thought I was in the Pit. One was in ATMB (a deceptively dangerous place). And one where the mod thought my hand was moving toward my waistband.

I’m a good boy. My most heinous crime was starting a thread in the wrong forum.

Reported.

PS - I have two, both from 2012, but one was reversed. The mod in question thought I deserved the other one, and was entirely reasonable in PM discussions about it. I’m not proud of it, but I defer to the mod’s judgment on that one.

I probably have more Mod Notes than most, for various reasons. But that’s for another forum.

I say what I think, most of the time. It’s just that I can abide by the rules and still tell people they are a stinky doodyhead. Just that I would say it politely. If I need to be mean to someone, well, there’s the Pit. I never call anyone a cunt anyway so it’s not like it was removed from my language suddenly. I rarely tell anyone to go fuck themselves online.

I’d rather go into an annoying longwinded version of why I am right and you are wrong. Which is probably way more irritating anyway. And I don’t see the point in going back over and over and over again to debates until I lose my temper - once I’ve said my piece I usually bow out.

Neither of you could come anywhere close. You have to be a lot more obtuse and stubborn for that.

16 years on the board, averaging just over a post per day, I have accumulated exactly zero warnings.

See this shoe? It’s a goody! See my other shoe? It’s a goody, too! Goody goody two shoes, that’s me. If the mods could read deleted posts, though, I’d be a goner…

I guess I’m tied for the lead with three! :stuck_out_tongue: My warnings each have “0 points.” Are they better or worse than warnings with points?

My most recent warning was for

which I thought quite showed restraint. (Note that it doesn’t even imply that the other is irrational. )

15 years, 16,000 posts, 0 warnings.

I think I’ve gotten a handful of Mod Notes, but the only one I remember was posting a direct link t to a medical site that had some potentially NSFW images.

Sorry people, but I have five. Is it bad form to link to the posts?

edges nervously away from amanset to avoid being hit by the drone.

Probably, outside the Pit, but you would have to ask a mod.

You, sir, have made my day.

One was actually for me being a bit rude in a reply to you. Um … sorry?
