One of the philosophies of Discourse is that reading the forum is important to the health of the community. If people only posted and didn’t read, there probably wouldn’t be as much activity overall.
One of the metrics that Discourse logs is how much you read the board. To find this, go to your icon in the top right corner, hit the icon that looks like a person on the top right of that menu, then select summary. On that menu, you’ll see your read time stats.
Mine says

4d recent read time

40.4k posts read
While I’m not exactly sure how this is calculated, it looks like an interesting metric.
Your turn. How many posts have you read? (people can see your choice)

It looks like I should have added finer gradations between 50k and 100k, but I had no idea how this was going to go.
Which ones were they? /s
You can check it out by hitting the bookmark looking icon which is two icons over to the left of the person looking icon that you hit to check the stats. Or maybe it’s best not to know.
