How often do you order Pizza Delivery at home?

Monthly or so for one already made. Only ever from a locally owned Italian style shop. Never Greek style or from a national chain (even if there was one within 15 miles of me).

More often we buy the dough only, and make the pizza at home, either in our indoor oven, or our outside wood burning Cob oven.

I haven’t had it delivered in several years so I chose never. I’m not paying a service charge plus tip when I can drive a few blocks. I rarely order it anyway. The kids are happy with five dollar hot n’ ready from Little Caesars.

I voted NEVER because pizza delivery is not available in my town. There once was a place that delivered and I remember ordering from them one time, but the pizza wasn’t very good. They didn’t stay in business long.

Somewhere between every week and every other week. Living where I do, there are literally over a dozen pizza places that deliver to my house, and I can order from any of them from a single website. Ironically, the one thing I don’t have is a Pizza Hut - the nearest is several towns over.

We will order pizza when I am tried and don’t feel like cooking or shopping. It has gone down since we started one of those blue apron type services so there is more often what is needed to make dinner at home.

Like with any food, I go in streaks. Ordered a pizza two weeks ago, had three in about two weeks a couple of months back, before that was a good two years I think.

Never, for two reasons.

First, where I used to live, the delivery people used to get my address mixed up with a similarly-named street, and it took them an extra 10-15 minutes to figure out where I lived.

Second, I have found that I can get the pizza much faster by picking it up myself.

Never, I don’t mind picking it up and saving a few bucks tip.

I also really like their plain wings. I order them every couple of months. I would do it more often but they are pricey relatively speaking.

Ditto. Usually we either pick it up and take it home, or eat at the restaurant.

I voted “Occasionally.” When I was in college and law school we probably had pizza delivered two-three times a month; now we might get it only twice a year or so. We’re much more likely these days to either go to our favorite sit-down pizzeria, or (much less often) get it as take-out.

I voted “occasionally” because the only time we order delivery is if I’ve been into the “sauce” before hand. Otherwise I pick up and never from garbage chain joints like pizza73, papa Johns or pizza hut.

This was one of the polls that completely surprised me. i thought the numbers for people getting home delivery pizza would be much higher.

Phone Apps today make ordering so quick and easy. I haven’t installed any on my phone because I don’t want to order that much pizza. It’s not the healthiest food. I order from my pc through the company’s web site.

Quite a few people commented they weren’t in a delivery area. I had a similar problem for a few years. Even now my neighborhood is in the fringes of Papa John’s delivery ring. That’s a bit surprising since home pizza delivery started back in the early 80’s. Maybe even earlier in other areas of the country. Would have thought their urban coverage would be more extensive.

Many preferred higher quality restaurant pizza. Rather than the pizza chains that deliver. I agree. The chains do come up short. They are better than frozen pizza but the Italian restaurants have them beat.

Quite a informative poll. Thank you for participating.

Well, I don’t eat pizza (food allergies) so definitely for me it’s never. My spouse can eat pizza, usually when I’m out of town or he is, so for the household it’s also never.

Restaurant? Don’t you mean parlor?

There’s a Little Caesar’s 8 blocks from my house, right at the bus stop and in a strip mall with a 7-11. If I want pizza, I walk down there or stop there on my way home.

I said occasionally, but it’s more frequent in the last year or so since I began to work from home. If I there’s nothing in the fridge for lunch and don’t want to go out shopping, I’ll phone for food and the pizza menu tends to be handy on the dining room table by my work laptop.

I’m a little surprised by the number of people saying they eat pizza but always pick it up themselves. For me, delivery is part of the indulgence of getting pizza. If I wanted to put on real pants and go outside, I probably wouldn’t be getting pizza.

There is no pizza delivery available to my home, so I opted for never. Once a year or so I will order for delivery to the office and perhaps once more I will phone ahead for a carry out order.

This wasn’t an option, but once or twice a year. Used to be alot more often, like 2-3 times a month (sometimes twice in one week), but I think we’re over it.
