How often do you post & what's the impact?

I love you.

3-4 posts a day and I doubt I have much impact. I’ve written one or two really great posts, maybe. Another poster said she printed out a post I made in VC03/TLDRPALATR’s thread on dining out vs. dining in and I was positively puffed with pride (still am, obviously :p). Most of my threads end up sinking to the bottom of the forum within five minutes of posting them.

STG, I’m always on the lookout for you.

In Soviet Russia, board impacts you!

In other words, my impact is to make people cringe at bad jokes!

Nearly every day, at any time during the day or night, as appropriate.

Impact? Not a lot, in the grand scheme of things.

I’m pretty much non-entity around here, though I’ve visited these boards probably close to every day since I signed up back in ’01. I used to be a charter member, but lapsed on my subscription for a couple months.

Other than a current picture thread in MPSIMS that has gone to 2 pages, I think I’ve started maybe 5 other threads that dropped out of sight rather quickly. I typically roam through all the other for a on a regular basis, reading whatever catches my eye, and posting occasionally. Very occasionally.

I’m a SDMB addict and waste many enjoyable work hours on this site.

Less and less: I think I’m gradually drifting away from here. Not that anyone would notice; I’m pretty invisible.

Nearly 200 posts since I joined last year (with a 7-month hiatus between December and July). Not exactly what you’d call a prolific poster; I haven’t made much of an impact, in that what I say (when I’m saying anything) isn’t very original or thought-provoking. I do plan to hang around for a long time, though, so maybe people will start to recognize my name after a while. (i.e. “Hey, aren’t you the girl who hates John Mayer?”)

I post, according to my profile, 3.34 times a day, but I check the board lots of times during the day. It really depends on if I get in early on a thread that interests me so I’ll post, or if I’ll just spend a while reading a 4 pager and laughing my ass off.

Impact? That I don’t think I have. Nobody even spells my name right when they quote me.

I post 1.64 times per day, usually when I’m bored at work. I think the impact, frankly, has been to revolutionize the SDMB. I believe the membership is better informed, better looking, and has sounder opinions and better taste in everything from politics to wine to theater due to my participation.

When I’m not posting, you’ll find me talking to myself on the bus.

I post 24 hours a day but only when the meditation is profound enough to reveal. My biggest impact has been on U.S. foreign policy, aviation, and Brady Bunch trivia. I still believe that the effects of all of this won’t be completely evident until decades from now. Until then, I pay my share to keep the server up until people can make sense of it all. I could easily see scholars 2000 years from now rebuilding the SDMB hard drives to figure out what we have said much like they do with the Dead Sea Scrolls now.

Constantly as it seems like I’m always in front of a computer. Even at work it’s a good way to spend the time while I’m waiting for a report or someone to get back to me or whatever.
I imagine the impact is that centuries from now, people will discover my musings and I will be worshiped as some sort of prophet or messiah.

My 5.78 a day beats everyone else’s… except Mangetout’s 13.71. Good god!

I’ll post when I see a threat I can add something too or can relate too. My impact? Depends on the topic, but I am not so sure any one really notices. Or maybe my post tend to agree with everyone else there is no real cause or whatever to stand out…

1.14 posts per day, with a bullet.

My greatest impact has been in the fight against crime. I derive great pleasure from the thought that anyone reading this post isn’t currently out mugging old ladies or molesting innocent cattle in the corner of a field.

Mooooooo…I mean, I’m not posting from my Blackjack right now or anything…

Five times a day on average, it seems. My impact’s practically nil.

Some of you posters with high post counts I can’t really put a personality to - maybe I don’t hang out in the same forums as you. Conversely, some of the posters saying they have no impact are ones I can recall specific anecdotes about. Funny, eh?

I post every other day or so (this is actually my second post in about 5 minutes, I’m on a roll!) with very little impact. I have ended more than one thread, so I think the board may be better off without my contribution. :stuck_out_tongue:

I post once in a blue moon. Mostly I get no response–sometimes I think I’m invisible. But I’m comfortable that way.

It seems like I post quite often, on a wide range of subjects, and my impact seems completely hit and miss. Mostly miss. :o

I estimate I’ve posted about eighty times.

I make a huge impact. I’m kind of a big deal.
