How often do you shower?

At least every morning, usually morning and evening, occasionally - if I workout mid-day or something - three times a day.

Anything less than once is incredibly gross. If your skin is dry, use some lotion. No one wants to smell you, because you smell nasty. Not you personally, all humans.

In the winter I shower about every third day, or every other. I couldn’t do every day- my skin gets so dry and tight even using lotions and oils and everything you can imagine for dry skin. I’ve never had any indication that I’m stinky or gross if I shower every third day, though my hair starts to look a bit iffy.

In the summer I do tend to shower closer to every other day, often every day. It’s refreshing when it’s so hot out, but I try not to get my hair wet every day. Or there will be much frizz.

Usually once a day, but I’ll shower a second time if I get dirty or sweaty.
I wash my hair every other day.

Every other day, unless I’m on vacation (when I get a lot of exercise and don’t have to worry about the water bill). I wash my hands and face and use deodorant on the nonshower days.

Daily, plus hair wash. Twice if I’ve worked out. Can’t stand dirty hair on myself or on other people.

I really don’t believe that for the vast majority of people there is a discernible odor if they go 36 hours without showering, provided that they’ve changed into clean clothes, are wearing an anti-perspirant and haven’t done anything strenuous. That doesn’t mean it’s bad to shower, but not everyone who showers every other day is a gross, nasty person–how would you even know?

Myself, I shower every day without fail if I am leaving the house. I do this mostly because being dirty really doesn’t bother me like it seems to bother other people, so I stick to a really strict schedule just because I can’t trust my instincts on this. On Saturdays, I shower when I am going somewhere or someone is coming over. If I never get a reason to, I don’t worry about it. Again, feeling dirty doesn’t seem gross to me. But I recognize I’m the weird one there.

1-2 times per day.

I re-caulked the tub Sunday night, so I showered Sunday afternoon, and then didn’t shower again until Tuesday morning. I felt funky all day Monday, even with deodorant and a dab of cologne.

Every day, twice if I worked out and usually twice in the summer. I skip a day or two here or there, but not often. I am skipping now because I am waiting for the plumber (on Christmas Eve, ho ho ho  The last shower I had was in Mexico on Monday) I have greasy skin from hell and live in a dusty environment, so I get grubby pretty easily.

California high desert.

Every other day, or sometimes every three days in the winter. No one has ever commented on my stink, so I think I’m OK. I’ll shower without washing my hair if I’ve worked out. My skin cracks all winter. I even slather Vaseline on my hands and feet and wear gloves and socks to bed nightly, so I’m one of those people who just can’t cut it with daily showers and lotion. On the plus side, I hardly perspire, so maybe I don’t smell as much as others would in my situation. I shower more frequently in the summer.

Daily, in the evening, including a hair wash. It’s an old habit. I feel gross and greasy if I don’t, plus it feels good and helps relax me before bed.

I’m in California.

I only wash my hair about 3x a week unless it’s summer and I always do it after I work out or get sweaty. The other days I tie my hair up and wash my body.

But I will not lie. My hair is dry. I’ve NEVER seen my hair greasy unless I am sick in bed for days and days w/o washing it. My skin is really dry too and even copious amounts of lotion aren’t helping much this winter. So I skip days. In the winter, unless I go to the gym or have sex, I’ll skip a day or two. I don’t like feeling dirty ever, but I don’t feel dirty or gross after only a day or so without a shower. I wear antipersperant/deoderant, clean clothes and socks and panties. My sheets get washed regularly. And I have seriously brutally honest friends and family, if I was ever funky I would hear about it. Instead, all my friends like to touch my hair because it’s soft and smells good.

Every few days. More if I exercise or am seeing people, but left to my own devices I’d shower maybe twice a week–and even less in winter!

(I work from home so I don’t have co-workers to offend.)

Oh, please. Yes, humans smell if they go without bathing, but two days, especially for someone, say, working an office job, is not gonna bust out the funk on them.

I shower probably every other day on average, and wash my hair twice a week in winter and thrice in summer*.

  • It’s funny how many compliments I’ll get on my shiny shiny hair, and when they ask “my secret” and I tell them not to shampoo every day and strip their hair of natural oils, they look at me like I’ve said to go bathe in a sewer.

Nearly every day in the warm months. Nearly every other day in the cold months.

Once a year whether I need it or not!

(Actually once a day!)

Once a day. I have phenomenally oily skin. Well, maybe not phenomenally, but very at least. If I don’t shower every day my head feels like it has had a thin layer of crisco applied to it. Very distracting.

I have extremely dry skin so I only shower about every 3 days. I use the sink for most of my bathing between showers, including hair washing. I wash all the smelly bits every day. My legs don’t need to be lathered up daily, why waste the water. My hands I wash probably 5 or six times a day, before leaving the bathroom or before handling food.

Every other day plus any time I work out or otherwise sweat, and I wash my hair once a week since it’s very short and dry.

I have a question: When in the day do you shower? I see most people here shower in the morning but I prefer the evenings since I wouldn’t be in a hurry.

Every day even in winter. I am blessed?cursed? with oily skin and going a day without showering makes me feel gross.

If I took a shower every day here, especially in the winter, my skin would be painfully dry and my hair would dry up and fall out or something. Generally I shower every couple of days. If I got sweaty or something for some reason I’d take one then, but if I don’t, there’s no reason for me to shower every day.

And no, I do not smell. Nobody, including people I know who wouldn’t offend me by saying so, has ever told me I smell unless I already know it and am heading for the shower. I don’t know why so many people are convinced that they will smell like something died by going for a couple of days between showers.
