I shower every other day or every third unless I’m doing something that actually gets me physically dirty. I tend to think of people who shower every day as greedy water wasters.
I don’t think water wasters are evil or anything, just kinda selfish. (Unless, of course they are in jobs or activities that require a good cleansing afterward.)
If I get a stank on between showers, washing my face, pits, crotch and butt (in that order) with a washcloth and soap is good enough to tide me over till the next shower.
I shower twice a week. My skin and hair are very healthy. I’m a nanny, so there’s no need for me to dress up. Pony tails, headbands and ballcaps can go a long way.
I know friends who shower every four days or so and tbh (and maybe it’s because there’s something wrong with me) they don’t seem to stink or look dirty or anything. They’re out with girls and such, nobody notices at all. They could tell you that that they shower every day and you wouldn’t be able to tell otherwise.
As I said, I only shower every other day because of my hair. Being as long as it is, it gets really greasy, really fast.
Twice a day, due to where I am from. On top of that, I sweat easily, even when not working out. On hotter days I would have to bath three times the day…grr…
I shower every other day for several reasons. First, my scalp will get very dry and itchy if I wash every day. I’ve tried it several times and it’s never worked. Second, I like how my hair is the second day. I comb it and my natural oils keep it in place. Lastly, there’s the hygiene hypothesis. I think it’s one of the reasons I recovered from my latest illness and forgot to mention it in the post on it. However, if I am extremely dirty or have done something strenuous, I’ll take a shower, but usually the next morning.
Every morning, helps to start the day. Plus, I’ve got really curly hair so I need to wet and condition it every day or it’s just…no.
If you’re only showering twice a week, chances are you stink. I’m a public defender. My court partner showers, at most, twice a week. Sometimes, when she’s on one side of me and a client is on the other, I can’t tell where the B.O. is coming from. It’s bad. And rude to those she’s forced to come into contact with daily. Mainly, me.
Normally, twice a day. I take a shower including washing my hair in the morning. I also always try to walk for at least an hour in the early evening, and have a quick rinse to get the sweat off when I get back.
If I’m out during the heat of the day (which I try to avoid) I may have another rinse to cool off when I get home.
If I’m staying someplace with only a cold water shower (which is typical in some small hotels and pensions here in Panama) I forgo the morning shower, and wash in the heat of the late afternoon when the cold water is refreshing rather than uncomfortable.
Once a day, after working out, so M-F in the evening, Saturday in the afternoon, and Sunday after I do the heavy duty cleaning (scrub the tub, vacuum, etc).
My boss didn’t shower often, and it was kind of a problem. If she were ever showing me something on the computer I’d breathe through my mouth. I think it was a combination of infrequent showering and using “natural” deodorant, which doesn’t work.
I play racquetball 4 times a week. So I am locked into a whirlpool, sauna and shower at least 4 times a week. In the summer I add a couple at home. In the winter not too many more.
In winter I hate to go out just having showered and in summer I can’t stand going to bed sweaty so I end up showering every evening before going to bed It keeps the bedclothes cleaner too. I have been know to shower in mid-afternoon in the summer in addition if I have been doing sweaty things like gardening.
When I am in Barbados (three weeks every winter), I take a rinse shower every time I leave the ocean, usually two or three times a day, but wash only once.
Stagger out of bed, straight into the shower. Every day.
Unfortunately I sit between two guys who don’t shower very often, and believe me, I can smell their approach. Worse than that, their CHAIRS are starting to stink so bad that I get the (dis)pleasure of smelling them when they’re NOT at work.
Why yes, I am asking to be moved. let them sit next to each other.
