How old is too old for 'footie' pajamas?

This.

God, I wish I’d had some last night! It was that “first night you should have turned the heat on because you were so cold you couldn’t sleep but were too asleep to get up and do anything about it.” My feet were freezing!

Only fair to say where I stand. I think 6 or so is probably the top of the range.

I see footie jammies as something like pull-ups, pacifiers, blankies, or favorite stuffed animals; they’re ok for a certain period, but beyond that it’s a little weird.

As long as they’re not being worn outside, who cares? And I just say that because I hate seeing people wearing their jammies in public. If I wore pajamas, I’d want footies in the winter - my feets get icy cold!!

I don’t think there is such thing as “too old”. I think if the kid (or adult) likes them, they should wear them. I also don’t think parents should make their kids wear them at any particular age. My kid hated anything on his feet and hated being too warm at a very young age. He’s never worn footie pajamas.

My son hasn’t worn them since he was 3 or 4.

But I have no real opinion of them, good OR bad. My experience has been that, even if he LOVED footies and WANTED to wear them, they just aren’t available for kids over 4 or 5.

I actually bought my wife some for Christmas a couple of years ago. They sell adult-sized ones in Target.
