How will you spend your tax refund?

I just got my letter from the IRS- apparently, they’re going to send me $300 I don’t necessarily need or deserve.

How are you going to spend yours?

I’m thinking about buying a washing machine.

Let me guess, most of the Gore supporters will say that they will spend theirs on useless things OR give it to charity.

Bush supporters will by something they need OR give it to charity.

Then, a debate begins regarding its usefulness and this thread gets moved.

Play nice.

Me? I don’t earn enough to get a refund back. I got me letter telling me so today.

I think I’ll donate my $6.50 to the Republican Party.

Yow! Am I experiencing Economic Growth and Tax Reconciliation yet?

I didn’t get a letter from the IRS.
Should I read anything into that?

Anyone not in favor of a tax cut has one and only one, ethical choice-- Give it Back. I’ve listed the offending URL for you all. Don’t even think about “charity” or other bogus rationalizations. I have nothing but respect for those who would.

Ours will cover most of the cost of a course my husband has been wanting to take.

Where does that fall on the “usefullness” scale??

Mine will disappear into my computer so fast… I won’t even get to know what it smells like.

We’re going to put half in our savings account (woefully short of funds) and half on an old debt. After that payment, we’ll only owe 2 months on it, then it’s DONE! Hallelujah.

To Lionel Hutz, of the “I Can’t Believe Its a Law Firm,” to cover the cost of my divorce. All things have many uses.

I’m not getting a refund, because I was claimed as a dependent on my mom’s taxes last year. Nevermind that about 25% of my paycheck each week goes to the government, and I could really use the money…sigh.

Anyone wanna donate their money to me? Call it charity…

What I want to do with it is buy new hockey gear. Mine is old, and falling apart.

What I will end up doing is using it to pay bills.

I like to think I’ll put my $300 towards a new bicycle. My old road bike isn’t the best for racing anymore, I’m planning on getting a dedicated TT/triathlon bike soon.

Most likely though, I’ll use it to pay bills.

Invest it in commodities-sort of
We already bought 500 bales of hay. We use some and sell some. It is already spent.
Hopefully we will turn a profit.

So far, a set of tires and another hard drive. I am allegedly getting my check next week, thanks to low digits at the end of my ssn.

Yeah, I got one of these notices in my mailbox yesterday as well. I’m supposed to get $300.

Not that I don’t enjoy $300 windfalls as much as the next guy, but why are we getting this when we should be doing something useful like paying off the national debt?

I think I’ll waste mine on Playstation games or something silly like that.

I’m going to use it to pay off the ridiculously high electriciy bills and gasoline bills I have, since that fraud George W. Bush has been allowing his buddies in the energy cartel free rein to gouge the public. Any remaining money will go to replenish the money I lost when I was laid off from work because “President” Bush hijacked the election and badmouthed the economy into a nose-dive back in January…

(Just so Mahaloth doesn’t feel disappointed. )

Luckily, mine is supposed to be sent right before I head off to Chicago. About a week before ChiDope. Cool beaners, huh? I may be tempted to buy a round for y’all.

Yeah, SuperDude, that’s when mine/ours is coming too. Hooray!

I have not given it much thought, as I don’t believe it will happened until the check is in the bank and not bouncing. Hummmm, I’ve got a credit card that needs paying off.
I talked to my mom last night and she’s thinking of using hers to get a new dog. I know it sounds like a lot of money for a dog, but she likes Bouvier Des Flanders and they are a bit expensive.

It’s MY money, that I earned for performing my profession. I therefore both need it and deserve it.

I plan to use it to buy Christmas presents and get my radiator flushed.

Still haven’t heard whether our Democratic governor (Bob Holden, Missouri) will tax this rebate or not. If he does, the city of St. Louis will as well.
