Hunting for a Bar - A Transatlantic MMP

I saw Mercury this morning! Woo! I’ve been missing every opportunity that came up for the better part of a decade. So it’s a big deal for me. And it was right in line with Venus and Saturn, and Mars was also up, but not near the other 3. Very cool stuff though.

Hope you don’t have another full week of jury duty, Taters. And I hope Mr. Taters work gets better soon too!

Good luck getting the doors fixed, Boo Fae. How does the new porch look other than the doors?

Sorry about the vacation situation FCM.

Um… that’s all I can remember right now. I miss summer half-day firdays. I do not have enough to keep busy for 8 hours today. Blah.

Morning. Off to work.

I have just tried to rip my toes off using a wall. This was a very stupid thing to do. (They’re not broken, just bruised, scraped, and swollen.) I hope I can drive my car when I get it back later today.

Conversation yesterday at 3DMMORPG table:

Me: sniffle sniffle sniffle snort :o sorry sniffle sniffle
Cris: you ok?
Me: other than not bein’ able to breathe, fine… :o sniffle sniffle

Welp, my sole purpose for coming into work today has been fulfilled.

I’d go home, since they usually give us an extra half-day before long weekends… only I had to shlep to the suburban office today and my carpool is working the full day. So I guess I’ll just stare at the wall until 5pm rolls around instead. Sniff.

On the bright side, they’re doing Thanksgiving turkey dinner at the caf. Because nothing says “enjoy the long weekend” like the gastro-intestinal distress that’s induced by overcooked turkey, watery gravy and mass-produced stuffing. Urk.

<reaches for carving knife–let’s watch a grown man RUN!> (where is the evil smiley?)
Pie–I think you should not do that. Then again, you do have 5 more toes on the other foot.

Good morning everyone. I’ve been up for awhile, caffienating, cruising the net and the Dope.

I’m hoping I don’t have weekend plans, but I’m sure we’ll be doing something; we always do.

To those of you with colds, I hope you feel better soon.

I hope your toesies stop hurting soon, Pie.

Hm…I guess that’s all I’ve got for now.

Hugs and smooches.

Rosie, you’ve stumped me, cause I sure don’t know what movie(s) that phrase has made it into recently!

So very glad that it’s FIRDAY; so glad in fact that I forgot to post here :smack: about it! And now it’s -almost- time to go home, woo hoo!

Happy Weekend, all!

My toes are better although I’m still wearing my biggest crocs and haven’t dared to actually put on a pair of socks yet.

My car is back! I’m happy to have it back, but sad to think of how much money I’ve spent on it since I got it back from GilaMonster.

I’m a bit out of sorts right now and trying to calm back down. Because of changing health insurance, I’ve had to pick some new doctors pretty much out of the blue. It makes me nervous to just pick a random name off of a ‘covered’ list and hope that I’ve chosen well.

Not necessarily a recently made movie - just more recent than Funny Girl
Here’s a hint - Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Modine starred.

***Happy Firday!!! *** And Happy ME!!! My vacation is safe - YAY!! I pointed out to Jen that all of our slides are done, Al and I scrubbed the priority list and eliminated a bunch of stuff, and Brian knows more about the background of this project than I do, anyway, so when he returns, he can handle it in my absence. Criminy, I was going to him for help when it started. Plus I gave Brian my home phone number just in case I’m needed, but I can’t imagine that being an issue. So YAY!!! <insert happy dance here>

I bought our tickets for the boat show. Annapolis is supposed to have 50% chance of rain in the morning, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Which means we’ll spend the morning going thru the tents and the afternoon climbing on boats. Plus I intend to build a couple of crab quiches for breakfast before we head out. It’s gonna be a good day!

And what else? **FCD **decided to take Monday off too. He’s having a ball futzing with his aquarium. I’m still planning to tear apart the blue bathroom from hell next week. The weather is currently gorgeous. Life is good.

TGIF! Hugs, smoochies, and gropes all around - take one and pass it on!

Why, yes, I am in a good mood. Thanks for asking.

I’m glad it all worked out, FCM.

Speaking of aquariums. I kept wondering why in the hell the gravel in my tank was being mounded up on either side leaving the undergravel filter on the bottom of the tank exposed. I was going to tidy up the tank today when I took a very close look at what was on the bottom of the tank. Fish eggs and the albino oscar is guarding them with a vengence. So, we just may have baby oscars soon. I have a feeling they’ll be gulped up before we can get to them and put them in a separate tank though.

I’m slightly irritated with my daughter. She has managed to misplace the title to her totaled car, which really makes turning it over to the insurance company a pain in the ass. I know exactly where the title was, but have a sick feeling she threw it out when she was purging out her room a few weeks ago.:frowning:

I can’t do anything about getting a replacement title because the car is in her name. And where is she? Up north with her boyfriend…grrr.

Glad the vacation worked out FCM!

Owie on the toes, Pie!

The pace of the day picked up a bit, and I’ve had a decent amount to do. Now I’m just looking forward to the weekend!

I’m thinking of buying thiswooden bowl for my friend who got married last weekend. We’ve been friends for >10 years, but we’re not really close. Is a $30 gift about right for a long-time but not-really-close friend? It really reminds me of her, although I can’t say specifically why. I was thinking of a wooden bowl for her, and I saw that one and said “That’s Margaret!” So I think it’s the right thing to go with, but I also don’t want to look like too much of a cheapskate. Even if I am one!

taxi, I think the fact that the bowl seems right for your friend means more than how much it costs. And I think it’s a really nice bowl, too!

I forgot to tell y’all my good news - remember “the prize inside”? It’s getting closer - Officially - 32 gone.

Finally home after the week from hell and I am wondering if taking my anit-malaria meds with the glass of wine was as bad idea…

doggio I would prefer to kill it with gin also but we are out of gin at Case de ems

Good job rosie and careful with the toes pie

Howdy Y’all! Dindin is consumed. My version of cheesesteaks which includes roast beast, pepperjack cheese, mushroom, bell peppers and onions. MMMMMMMM…

Also, OYKW and I have decided to ward of malaria this evening.

MOOOOOOM yay for the staycation workin’ out. I suggest “forgettin’” how to answer the phone.

taxi I think the bowl is jake. However, if you feel it’s a bit too cheapskate, throw in a pair of sterling silver olive forks. After all everybody needs those!

BioRosie

YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

I know what you’re talkin’ about and good for you!

Congratulations, rosie!!!

Have you guys noticed that beebs has been sneaking around here without saying hi lately? :dubious:

Congrats,** Rosie!** I know what you’re referring to, as well.

I’ve noticed** beebs** around too. I keep hoping he’ll pop in here.

I guess we may be going down to the irish pub for some chop-chop tonight. I guess this means I’ll actually have fix my hair up. I was trying to give it a break today. I washed it when I took a shower of course, but I didn’t bother with blow drying or styling it. Guess I’ll have to wet it down now and do that.

Not much else going on. I should have been productive and done some stuff around the house, but I pretty much just cruised the net and played some Mah-Jong on the computer today. It was kind of nice, actually.

I better head upstairs and start prettifying myself.

Ehhh… who cares about that ol’ Beebs! :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s see if that draws him in.

BTW, we were also concerned about ricketts so we made sure to include lime in our malaria preventative. I’m sure doggio will be proud to know we took that precaution.

And on that note, I think I shall retire. Apparently there’s some … ummmmm… well, you know, needin’ to take place before I can officially go beddy bye.

Nitey Nite Y’all!
