Try to keep up here, Sinaijon. The specific problem is not with the Dole ad calling the “Godless Americans PAC” money “godless”, but with the attempt to make the group sound evil and sinister, based on absolutely jack-shit except the word “godless” (oooo!! scary!!) in its name.
If a candidate made a similar ad about a rival candidate’s “secret meeting” with a “Jewish Americans PAC”, attempting to raise fears about what that candidate “promised in return” for that “Jewish money”, that would be bigoted scaremongering. And so is this.
Non-religious Americans are getting pretty fucking tired of being treated like Teh Evil by a bunch of narrow-minded bigots, and that narrow-minded bigotry is exactly what the Dole campaign is pandering to here.
She wants to put pedagogues in schools!
Where she plans to have kids matriculate!
Not only that, but she wants children in hospitals, *in hospitals *mind you, to be visited by pediatricians!
That woman in the black cloak in Dole’s ad is really, really scary.
The followup ad should feature those twins from The Shining chanting "Come play with Kay Hagan…forever…and ever…
