In what episode did Homer dance around on the grave of good Homer wearing a cute little devil costume, singing “I am evil Homer!” I have to know but I just can’t remember. Thanks!
Treehouse of Horror IV. The one where Flanders is the Devil. Homer eats the last bite of the forbidden donut (“Mmmm - forbidden donut”) and then turns into Evil Homer.

No! It’s the episode with Snake-Whacking Day! Because Lisa asks him if it’s morally right to kill snakes, and Homer says something like “inside all of us is a struggle between good and evil that cannot be resolved.” and then they cut to “I am e-vil Ho-Mer! I am e-vil Ho-mer!”
Actually that’s been in a few episodes, including “Whacking Day”…
I just canna remember them
Yeah, he is daning on Good Homers grave doing a litle jig singin, “I am Evil Homer, I am Evil Homer!”. Which , BTW, is the same tune as, “You don’t win friends with Salad, You don’t win friends with Salad” from the episode where Lisa becomes a vegetarian.
Ah, whacking day, of course! Thank you.
I swear I remember that from the forbidden donut scene, but I suppose not - although I can’t find the line in the Whacking Day synopsis nor the Treehouse of Horror IV on snpp.com…
So, let’s see - a double post, and I’m wrong!
Now I’m off to spread my message board excellence into other threads…
And which is the SAME tune as featured in “Nancy Goes to Rio” a tired MGM musical from 1950 with Jane Powell and Carmen Miranda, Barry Sullivan and Ann Sothern (The tune is originally “Nan-cy goes to Ri-o!”).
This was, of course a remake of the Deanna Durbin - Kay Francis vehicle of 1941, “It’s a date!” with it’s daring theme of a mother and daughter both attracted to the same man. In the course of this film, Deanna sings “Musetta’s Waltz song” from Puccini’s La Boheme.
This beloved opera, first performed in 1896, was recently given an outstanding production by Baz Luhrman, director of “Moulin Rouge”, the film starring Nicole Kidman, who apparently has a “just friends” relationship with Russell Crowe, a recent Academy Award winner.
The Academy Awards or “Oscars” were the first awards show to be televised (in 1952) , and made possible other awards shows such as the Emmies, the Tonies and the Grammies, the latter of which were recently referred to in a snide manner during the course of a Simpsons episode.
Now, what was the name of that episode?
Ah, the cultural richness…

Of course, that same tune is used in Cheers when the gang sings, “Sammy got the bar back!” when, uh, Sammy got the bar back. (It later turned to, “Sammy is a dead man!”)
What I meant to say of course is that the first four notes of the refrain of Musetta’s Waltz Song from La Boheme are identical but single sustained versions of the repeated notes of “I am Evil Homer/Sammy Got The Bar Back”.

“I am Evil Homer” is also my computer startup sound. But I could never remember which ep it came from…thanks, Daowajan!
