I am seeing Flock of Seagulls in concert tonight.

I just wish I had this book for them all to autograph. They are playing at a little venue with Modern English and Berlin. I remember their songs from the 80’s and I am going with one of their fanboys (sigh, friends). I am hoping that all the men have the same hair styles but with receeding hairlines and bald spots. I can only imagine what the fans look like. I am hoping for a good laugh and a flashback to the 80s. Wish me luck!

I wonder if they’ll play “I Ran?”

Nyahh. I imagine they’ll want to play all their recent hits.

Seeing as AFOS is one of my favourite groups, I’m very very jealous. Where are they playing at?

They don’t do their old stuff any more. Mike Score is no longer part of the group. They do more guitar rock-type music now.

I came very close to getting Mike Score’s autograph once. I was in contact with a certain website operator who maintained close ties with Mike. I really shoulda followed up on the opportunity!

Or the dreaded “something from our new album”.

Man, I was just kidding. You mean they actually might not play it? Please tell me their hair still gets caught in ceiling fans!

Do you think Jules will be there?

(Nobody will get this…)

Just wait until they finish their first song, and yell:

**FREEBIRD! **

They’ll love you for it, I promise!

As long as you yell “Freebird!” you’ll be alright…

Oh wow, man, like, my first simulpost…Groovy!

I caught them at a free concert at the capitol a few years back. I had a blast. I’m hoping for a comeback album, but I’m not holding my breath. I saw the Go Go’s at the same type of venue. I just can’t get enough of the good 80’s stuff <–that won’t cause a flame, I’m sure of it!

Great minds, and all that.

So what was I doing posting?

Will they be going “Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!” all through the concert?

Sorry, a “Finding Nemo” joke. I couldn’t resist. I’ll shut up now…

Remember not to look up.

I once had their hairstyle for a while. No, this was recently. In May, actually. Because it was cool, alright?!

I saw them in 1983-4. They opened for the Go-Go’s. Wow, did that show suck! The first opening act was a rockabilly Stray Cats-ripoff call the Rockcats (sp?). They didn’t go over too well. Then the Flock came out, the lead singer locked down that one note on the synthesizer (apparently the only one that could produce sound) and commenced to drone for 30 minutes. I had one helluva headache after that.

Unfortunately, the Go-Go’s sucked worse (and not in the way I’d liked :D). Vacation had just come out. They performed nearly all the songs of their two albums in about 45 minutes. No small talk, barely a “thank you”, and away they went.

The second Flock of Seagulls album was actually sorta cool and spooky. (Well, to someone of my age at the time…I’m sure if I heard it again I might laugh.) I had no idea they were still around and touring, and this is from someone who still buys the latest Pet Shop Boys album every year and saw them live a couple years back.

I would totally pay to see the Go-gos. is pathetic

Ditto. That was my first real concert. Bayfront Center, St. Petersberg.

[sub]I have their greatest hits CD in my car.[/sub]

I have the AFOS Greatest Hits CD. Indeed some of their songs are quite spooky.
