Filling out job applications makes my head hurt.
I love pugs!
Good luck with the applications stickybunz.
I recorded a piece of music I wrote recently, inspired by going home after an all-night party. Good times.
Worked for 12, Canes just lost. Need new brakes. Pronouns missing in action.
Nifty, Midget.
sticky, I hear ya on that.
swampy, us Catholics get special dispensation for St. Patrick’s Day debauchery if it happens during Lent. Gotta have something to repent, ya know?
Sari, Drae, yay for the house paperwork!
Moooommmmm! I did my chores, can I go and play?
Thanks.
I should go to bed soon.
Cool.
Is it Passover already?!?
Crap, I don’t have any horseradish!
I have 8 kinds of hot sauce. Will one of those do?
Ok, I admit I’m a bit cranky right now as it is, but honestly, people continue to mistify me. I’ve been giving someone advice all night on fb about where to purchase a certain kind of medical device. First I gave a link to the product, then the person wanted to know how much the accessory for the product would cost. Gee. I bet if you click on the link for the product, there might be a listing for the accessories! Next, she said that she was going to buy a particular product and why that was the case. I proceeded to post another link and gave my opinion about the product that I have. At no point was I rude, cranky or condescending but for reasons I can’t figure out, she decided to delete my post. I don’t get it.
I think I should give up on this day and go to bed.
Has anyone seen my brain lying around? In the last 36 hours, I’ve forgotten my lunch carrier at the office (had to carry today’s lunch in via grocery bag), my wallet at home (majorly embarrassing at the checkout at Hobby Lobby), and my earphones at home (thus having to listen to other passengers on the bus/train).
In other news, my POS phone decided to do a charming impersonation of a paperweight just about one time too many, and has been replaced with a delightful new phone. DH covets delightful new phone’s twin.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a rainy 57 Amurrkin out and that shall be the high for the day. Rain all day and the same 57 all day. On the plus side the rain should be gone by late afternoonish. Thus I have decided tonight would be a good night for chili and cornbread. Over the next few days it shall warm up again and then back to 50s and 60s. Winter and Spring are definitely fightin’ it out down heah.
Butters this was just a regular ol’ poke roast. I do tend to buy poke with a little less fat on it but still some as I think some is needed. Just always turns out good for me in the slow cooker, although I do prefer to smoke a poke roast.
Nice piece of music Midget!
doggio Whiskypalians get a pass on St. Pat’s debauchery as well. Especially my church as we are St. Patrick’s.
StickyBuns some folks just ain’t worth it. Good look on the job apps.
flytrap I believe Passover starts around April 14th this year. Coincidentally, Holy Week starts April 13th which is a Sunday. Durin’ our conversation yestiddy YP and I decided that it should be worked out where Palm Sunday (start of Holy Week) is always on the first Sunday in April which would put Easter as always on the second Sunday in April. Now all we have to do is get everybody to agree with us. We also decided that since everything both of us says makes perfect sense everybody should automatically agree with us.
I mentioned my good friend Steve in a post last evenin’. Shortly after I did that I got a call from our Deacon. Steve died early last evenin’. Joy (our Deacon) called me because Cathy, Steve’s wife, asked her to call and let me know before I heard it through the grapevine or got the email that will be goin’ out today from YP. Really sweet of Cathy to think of me at that time. I took a ham outta da freezer to start thawin’. Hopefully I can get it baked this evenin’ so’s I can take it over to the family tomorrow. I’m thinkin’ some N.O.T. sallit as well. RIP Steve, Emperor of Fish Fries.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Glad I don’t have to travel today. It’s as BooFae and Nuts would say, bucketin’ down outside.
Happy Hump Day Y’all! Just. Never. Gets. Old.
Thanks swampy.
The light in my room is blinking and it’s driving me nuts! I’ll need to change it.
{{{{Swampy}}}}
Blurf, y’all.
ETA: I. Hate. Snow.
He has been good for house entertainment though…
He moved in because he plays geetar, and the Landlord (herinafter referred to as LL) has a band that needed a geetarist in the same genre. It seemed like a good plan- they’d had trouble getting someone who could make practices often enough, but a guy with no job, living in the same house? Can’t go wrong!
Except… it was Geoff.
He never once made it to practice.
My favourite time was when I went downstairs to find LL standing in the living room, holding his mobile and laughing- apparently he’d arranged a practice, and Geoff had just texed him saying he was really busy, and couldn’t make it today. From upstairs.
30 seconds later, we both heard him leave his room, and go run a bath.
:smack:
Anyway, hopefully I’m going to be able to switch to his old room when he goes- it has two windows, one of which the cats can’t get in, which would be great for my plants. Also, I hate sleeping with the window shut when it’s hot, but opening the one in this room leaves you liable to an unpredictable face full of cat.
She’s yours. Stoopit dog woke me at 2:20 this morning!!! She finally quieted down a bit before 4, but I’m in the zombie mode. Stoopit dog. Plus she peed in the living room.
I guess they got rid of the net nanny - look, I can log on here!! There goes my productivity!
**swampy **- so sorry to hear about Steve. You seem to be losing way too many friends these days.
It was snowing at home, but less and less was falling as I drove south. It got to the point where the roads were still dry and very few flakes were visible, but I was stuck behind some idiot who was driving under the speed limit for several miles. There was enough traffic in the other direction that I couldn’t pass, either. Fortunately, that moron didn’t turn where I had to turn, but I still got in here about 10 minutes later than I wanted to.
All in all, it’s gonna be a crappy day.
Up, caffeinated, and off to work.
Oops, didn’t read the latest posts… Sorry about your friend {{Swampy}}
Sorry to hear about your Emperor Swampy :(. It plus the thread I just read about the posters 19 yr old brother passing away from cancer makes my rant about the 1.5 hour commute home last night seem kind of dumb. Hugs to everyone.
Over the course of our cleaning in the last month, I have found two rawhide bones and two Jumbones, which Winchester picks up, cries about, carries around the house for twenty minutes, buries in some bedding or a couch cushion, and then promptly forgets about. Four bones at once almost broke his poor little mind. Someday … someday he might eat one of them.
{{swampy}} Never been a fan of fish fries, but I can get behind being declared Emperor of something.
Still waiting to hear if our house offer has been accepted. Last night I demolished three of our four closets in a frenzy of throwing-things-out. I had to try many of them on first (just in case), which made it take longer than necessary. Found two pairs of pants that look awesome from the hips down, but won’t quite close at the waist, which is why they were relegated to the Closet Of Unworn Clothes in the first place. Also found my high school varsity jacket (for the color guard, because sports are not my thing) and there seems to be a Facebook uprising against just throwing the damned thing out. There was also a blonde flapper wig and a pair of keyoooooote red satin peep-toe slingback stilettos that are a hair too big and a broken ankle waiting to happen. So I had to get rid of those, too. It makes me sad to say goodbye to great shoes, whether they fit or not.
Roomie made a solid effort at de-cluttering her room, but it’s going to need a lot more work. She has more clothes than room to put them, and the fact that they’re not all on her floor is actually about the most cleaned/organized I can expect of her. So I’ll be sitting down with her to help get crap out this week. I don’t have time for her to be halfheartedly folding things while watching The Americans on her iPad. We needs to move.
Did I mention we haven’t heard back about the offer yet and I’m feeling a little antsy? I thought maybe I hadn’t mentioned it.
Rainy morning, and my entire household seems afflicted with worse morning grumpies than usual. The Princess didn’t even come snuggle when the alarm went off.
Good morning all.
Sorry to hear about your friend, Swampy. I dread reading the obituaries or logging on to FB anymore - seems like every week one of my peers has checked out for good. Guess we’re just getting to that stage in life.
Nothing much going on down here. Looks like Snowmiser is trying to make it snow, but he’s really not putting any effort into it. It is in the 30s, though.
