I can't believe I'm the first to MMP

MOOOOOOM you are right. I’ve lost too many friends lately. Steve is the second one this week. Sean I hear ya! Seems like everytime I check the fb page of Ye Olde Hometowne Homies somebody is reportin’ about someone who has died. Same with readin’ Ye Olde Hometowne paper on line. I’m seein’ way too many obituaries of friends and/or friends’ parents.

In other news, I received a revised copy of the “site book” from TPTB this mornin’. “Site book” is just a listing of participants, trainin’ sites and relevant info such as addresses, phone #s, email addresses and such. It is many pages thus the book part. Anywho, I had sent in a bunch of corrections which was the reason for the revision. Not a dang one of the corrections was made. I sent it back (it was an attachment to an email) with the message. Please actually REVISE this before sendin’ it to me again as not one correction I sent in was made to the thing. The head PTB has called me to assure me that the person who did this is not havin’ a happy time right now. Her exact words. She can drive me berzerk at times but the woman has a wicked sense of humor that is just right up my alley.

TRAIFF!!
also, a different kind of heat, altogether.

Brava, Midget
and of course, BLURF.

“A different kind of heat.”

Hopefully somebody else gets that joke.

Sorry about your friend, swampy.

Well, I’ve had a bit of interesting news this morning. I submitted an application last night for the exact kind of job that I’m looking for. This morning I got an email from the principal saying ‘do you realize that we’re three hours away from you?’ And also that considering my background that he might have another job opening that would interest me as well. I’m not overjoyed about moving 3 hours away, but for the right job I would do it. Especially since it just happens to be along my road!

So, I emailed him back. We shall see. In other news, I’m off to orientation soon. Gotta eat and get dressed!

I am always amused by orientation. Like, what are they gonna do, point me in a direction and say, “there, you’re all oriented!”

Also, I must needs to call to question the lineage of my Verizon aircard and its momma. Intartoobz conncection has been wonky at best all mornin’.

Plus, it’s cold and rainy out and I want to be in da cave.

Woe is me.

If you spin a Korean counterclockwise, do they become disoriented? (We miss you, Hazel)

N.O.L. is et. 'Tis an icky, dreary, rainy 49 Amurrkin out. Looks like chili will be a good call for tonight. I want a nap. At least I’m on the downside of the irkday now.

Ok, back at it.

Have you all seen this? It rotates as time progresses.

What? We have new smilies.

Up and moving on the slow blurfity

Got the word late last night, fly out on the 11th. Mumpers we are a meeting.

Got stuff to do and then three days at the Grande Casa de(l?) Rock.

Back in a bit.

Jim

:):confused::eek::cool::rolleyes::mad::p;):D:(:dubious::o:smack:
They’re not new. They’re just rearranged and recolored

Randall Munroe is a genius. I’ve got about a dozen of those entries bookmarked for quick reference.

okay try number 6
I keep getting kicked off the board
Happy Hump DaY!
It snowed, it melted, life sux today, maybe, we’ll see.
I’m sorry about your friend** Swampy**

I missed the post, Swampy. My condolences on the loss of your friend.

Are they for Easter; they’re all pastely?

What are the details for Wilmington?

I cannot post a linky because I am on the stoopit tablet but details are at

Matt Schofield.com

Please come on down. If I haven’t sent you my contact info PM me and I will fix that.

swampy, sorry about your fish fry buddy. Losing people just sucks.
Jim

It’s in my calendar now.

Thanks Y’all! Mumpers be the bestest! Steve’s funeral will be Firday at two p.m. He will be buried in his family’s cemetary which is out near da cave. He lived the next road over from me, hence the closeness of the cemetary to da cave. Ham is cookin’ and N.O.T. have been boiled and are coolin’ for N.O.T. sallit. Ima take ham, N.O.T. sallit, green beans, and rolls over tomorrow. I was goin’ to make a ‘nanner puddin’ but when I talked to Cathy today she said please no desserts as cakes and pies have been arrivin’ in abundance today. I think I might even take a loaf of bread over bein’ as it’s a big ham and some folks may want a ham sammich.

Anywho, cornbread in the oven and chili heatin’ up. I’s hongry!

Well, I guess you shouldn’t taunt the Net Nanny - just after I posted this morning, I got the “This site is blocked” screen, so I had to work after all. :stuck_out_tongue:

Pizza for supper. That’s as much as I’ve planned for tonight. **FCD **called this afternoon - they’re headed back to Ocala, even tho they’d intended to stay another night in Raleigh. I’m guessing he’ll come home Firday, but I won’t know till he calls me tomorrow.

And that’s all I’ve got. I’s tahred and my poor hands are all dried out - I need to lotion 'em up! What I really need to do is slather on the petroleum jelly before I go to bed. We’ll see if that happens.

That is a very good idea.
For some reason, it is also depressing. Perhaps it recalls folks bringing food upon my Father’s death. It was a day or two before I felt like eating. Someone brought some brownies, and Dad’s Mother In Law ate every damn one of them.
