You know very well where the data comes from for the conclusion that Gore won. You’ve been very active in those threads, and while you’ve regularly had your arguments destroyed, I’ve never once seen you conceed that. You just wander off and come back in another thread with the same half-baked arguments.
So, hate what you see? Don’t look in the mirror guy…

And you would be correct, Captain. Of course if the topic is worthwhile, or entertaining, etc., I would post in a gorewonfla thread. I’ve even posted in a fecal nugget thread, and I join those repulsed by that name.
JeffB - actually, the most amusing Milossarian anagram is “I’m so anal, sir.”

Come, come now. You really can’t discern a difference between those names and the name in question? Is it really making a huge assumption, or is it pretty self-evident?
If the name in question was ClintonisaRapist, would you put it in the same category as FireUnderpantsBoobs and Wildest Bill?

Right back atcha, andros. I understand that the election controversy was divisive, passionate, even rancorous. I’m glad things have gotten more civil for the most part in political discourse here since.
My point in the OP (which, as noted above, is only half-serious) stands, however.
Tejota (A clear exception to the more civil tone I just noted)-

My arguments destroyed?
Who’s president? Who won every legal count of legal votes? Who hasn’t won a single fucking count yet? Who won after two newspapers counted the votes, using all different sorts of criteria?
Yeah. Just destroyed me. Hoo-doggy.
You need to set aside that partisan axe and stop spinnin’ the grinding wheel there, Tej. You’ve shifted into the “promoting ignorance” mode if you also assert Gore won Florida, which should be avoided here at the SDMB or corrected whenever possible.
DRY - You are correct. What about Bobby Layne, Tobin Rote and the days of the blurry, black and white television, though?
Well, since I actually didn’t win the last round of ITR games, I’ll probably incite the anger of Milo and UncleBeer by posting here, but I’ll do it anyway.
andros: look at column on the left side of your screen. You’ll observe that the space there is somewhat limited. So much so, in fact, that bushwonfloridabecauseofanineptandineffectualsystem doesn’t exactly fit. Are you stating that people just shouldn’t put political statements in user names? Because if they do, it has to be something succinct, and it’s difficult to elaborate more than gorewonfla in just a few spaces. So if the guy wanted to make his feeling about the events in Florida known by his name, he didn’t have that many other options.
I wonder whether Milo and UncleBeer would be so irate if one poster had chosen the name mediahelpedgore. I guess it’s a good thing that he chose the name december instead, and only took up space in GD with his conspiracy theory.
One last question, Milo. You whine about the fact that some Democrats can’t accept the fact that Bush won the legal election. Well how is that any different from you continuing to insist that there is no basis for saying that Gore should have won if the election had been conducted fairly. The threads that Tejota was refering to dealt, for the most part, not with dipsputing the legal questions, but with discussing the fairness of the process after the fact (many of the threads about the election were still active after the Supreme Court made its decision), yet you continued to insist that there was no evidence of Republican misconduct, even when solid evidence was provided.
Yes, Bush won Florida. But Gore should have won Florida, and would have won Florida if the recount had been conducted in a fair manner. gorewonfla is in denial about one statement, you’re in denial about the other, what’s the difference?
To me, gorewonfla just seems like an odd choice for a username. If he/she sticks around, it’ll be dated pretty quickly. Imagine if we had a poster join at around the time of the Lewinsky scandal who chose the name impeachclinton to piss off Democrats. It’s making a political statement too, but one that’s no longer news. It’d be strange to see now. What will gwf do with the name if they’re still around in a year or two?
FTR, I’m a left-leaning moderate.
But not really a mythological ancient Greek warrior. Sorry.
Well, I remember those days. (Only reading about them, however, as I wasn’t around then.) What sucks is that I recall the Lions’ biggest rival, at least in the Championship Game, to be Cleveland. Who finally won a Super Bowl last year (under a new name and in a new city, it’s true).
And the year before that, my second favorite team, the Rams, won a Super Bowl. Again in a different city.
Meanwhile, my Lions have won how many playoff games in my lifetime? Two? Three?
Anyway, when I first became a Lions fan, Greg Landry was their starting QB, Altie Taylor their halfback, Charlie Sanders was the tight end. The defensive stud I remember was Lem Barney, though I recall Levi Johnson as being pretty decent.
Probably my biggest highlight as a Lions fan was a game in the early to mid 80s when they beat the Cowboys on a last second field goal, when there was a 12th man on the field unnoticed to the officials.
Lowest points? All those one and out playoff appearances. Every friggin Redskins game. Thinking that Andre Ware was a great draft choice.
DRY - We shall devote a Pit thread to the Lions’ ineptitude when the season rolls around again. It’s a date.

Don’t get me wrong. The debate was legitimate. Differences of opinion on the fairness of the election contest were lively and interesting, for those who care about or have an interest in politics.
I don’t think I’m misinterpreting gwf’s name or its message.
{breathes a sigh of relief that Milo has not yet discerned the nefarious Anarcho-Syndicalist connotations behind the seemingly innocent “Ukulele Ike.”}
Yes, I assumed that your thread was a ‘response’ to the fecal thread. Yes, I also assumed that you wouldn’t actually refrain from posting in a thread if you though the topic was interesting.
However, this fixation still seems petty to me. You are making assumptions that the person is saying that ‘legally, Gore won Florida’, when the intent may be: “I believe that had the election been run in a fair and equitable manner, gorewoulddawonfla” or “I want to be upfront about my political leanings” or even “I betcha I can annoy the bejezuz outta Milo” on this one.
RE:
Yep, I would, and feel free to rename yourself as such. I guess I don’t get all wrought up into user’s names. I like short, easy to remember, easy to spell things (like, oh, say wring for instance! ). Look at gorewonfla as a time saver - you didn’t have to spend a whole lotta time reading their postings to figure out you probably wouldn’t agree much with their POV.
In short, you won’t have to stretch far with him to do one of your Milomakingfunofusernames[sup]tm[/sup]
{aside to ITR: This: “if one poster had chosen the name mediahelpedgore. I guess it’s a good thing that he chose the name december instead, and only took up space in GD with his conspiracy theory.” was priceless, thank you)
Good Lord.
As far as everything I’ve seen, the uncertainty in the FL count was greater than the margin of victory (or more specifically, within pretty much any tolerable confidence limit, the two vote counts were not statistically different–I worked this out during the whole election debates). Which means either one of them won it (from a factual point of view, not legal). So GWF as a sn is not lying, nor is it telling the entire truth.
