I could spend all day in my underwear watching “Earnest Goes to Camp”
I could sit and count my hair
I could burp my Tupperware.
I’m not busy now anywaaaaaaaaay.
I’m callin’ in sick today!
(Weird Al)
Well, sick again. So, what should I do today? Right now I’m reading the boards (done), watching the Dot.com guy (he’s showering), and watching Court TV. I’m sick as a dog and whenever I start to read I fall asleep. Ack!
I may just order Pay-Per-View movies all day. I haven’t called in sick in so long (years) I don’t know what to do with myself!
I called in sick because I AM sick! If I could do all those things, I’d be at work now!
I think I’m going to try to read a little- every time I doze off my sore throat wakes me up, which sucks. The most I’ll probobly do is a little housecleaning. It does look nice out, though- maybe I’ll get a little fresh air.
Zette, I was thinking you could make a nice, hot cup of tea with some honey and brandy. That should put you out for a while without being woke up by your throat.
Trust me. I didn’t believe it when told this, but tried it and knocked my bug right out.
Get you a double shot glass, fill with whatever kind of liquer, add a touch of butter, brown sugar, honey, white sugar, heat in microwave as hot as you can stand to drink it, then take a nap and I bet you’ll feel better when you wake up, if you wake up. Just kidding. It gagged me to drink it, but it did work.
Then you can come wash my truck and week my flowerbeds.
I’m gonna guess that was either a peanut butter and kosher dill sandwich, or something delightfully obscene…
Pile on the blankets, every one in the house, and take a nap until you want to wake up. It is crucial that you sweat like a cheatin’ husband when the wife and the other woman run into each other at Braum’s, and sweat for a long time. It breaks the fever and you feel better quicker.
Or, go stand in a draft in your underwear, and feel sick longer! You need to take more time off from work, m’dear.
Well, I ended up lounging around all day. I started to feel moderately better, so I went to the library and ran a few errands. Had more chicken soup and went back to bed.
On the upside, I discovered “Cepacol” throat drops. They have benzocaine in them (taste awful) and really numb your throat (and tongue) up good. It gets rid of the nagging throat ache for a while so I can sleep.
