So I did. Thanks.
Claire lets Faye know she’s trans. Obviously word will get out and cause consternation! Or not, is what I’m thinking. I just can’t see Jeph going there.
I couldn’t believe that Faye didn’t already know by now - I had to go a long way back in the archive to try to find Claire’s first appearance.
Has Claire actually moved in properly?
Yeah, ages ago. The official move-in came after she’d been essentially living there for a while. Back in 2017, but since Jeph doesn’t date his strips beyond the copyright date, I can’t say whether that was ‘just over 2 years’ or ‘something like 3 years’.
I’m pretty sure this is in response to the number of emails asking ‘but what is she packing?!’ which he was complaining about on Twitter earlier, so…yeah. If this ends up being an ‘everybody in her circle finds out’ thing, it’s going to be everybody being super-chill and nothing changing other than a few of the other girls noting her as not somebody to go to in a menstrual emergency. ![]()
It’s five days a week, right? If so, that would be 144 weeks ago based on the strip numbers or 2.77 years ago. I don’t know if the guest strips and one off fillers are numbered but close 'nuff for government work.
Huh…it never occurred to me to do that. I mean, it’s just an approximation, due to time off, but…yeah, not a bad approximation. So, we’re ranging toward 3 years at this point…still feels longer, to be perfectly honest.
I was under the impression he had already addressed the scenario, though I am not sure that was in-strip.
As far as I recall, Claire had only told two people in the strip; Marten and Emily.
OK - so Claire (and Emily) first turn up in strip 2203 - I didn’t start looking from the beginning, I probably picked up the story at 1500 or so …
Unlike some of the other webcomics I read regularly (Girl Genius and Schlock Mercenary), I have never been invested in the storyline of Questionable Content sufficiently to re-read the entire archive.
Nor Something Positive for that matter, which would probably be an exercise in masochism.
I’m the same way with the QC (and SP) back catalogs. Been reading both for years but both also had years of content before I started. I think I once tried reading QC’s but the artwork and writing turned me off pretty quickly.
Claire seemed to talk about it indirectly with Bubbles, back during the memory-wipe episode, but she didn’t explicitly say so. If Bubbles is assumed to know and Faye didn’t, that speaks volumes for Bubbles’ discretion.
I’m a little disappointed that the opossum wasn’t Randy the Bandicoot.
OK, it looks like ‘everybody’s going to find out, and nobody is going to make a big deal out of it’ is, in fact, where it’s going. (If anybody in this crowd would, it’d be Pintsize.)
The whole reason of it even being brought up is what she’s going through is a well-known side effect of a couple of bottom surgery variations and people know about it
you know with the past month of strips it seems to me that Dora and Tai’s wedding is going to be the finale for most the original cast and then its going to focus on the side characters ore than it already does … although we need to see steves boat before he sells it
All Melon, all the time.
Wut?
